Some people might feel uncomfortable when the terms “drug rehab leads” and “marketing” are combined concerning this topic and what it entails. In fact, this makes the addiction treatment industry seem like a sales-hungry, soulless business.
Would we market drug rehabs as we market a new type of diet soda? No!
Drug rehab marketing does not have to be about “selling” or making a profit. Your goal is to get the word out about your program and ensure more people know you are there to help them. It is among the best ways to connect with people who need your life-saving services.
Drug rehab marketing might sound impersonal—especially when a large portion of marketing happens online. The best lead generation strategies aim to establish a human connection.
Although seeking treatment or finding help can seem daunting, people struggling with substance abuse have new options.
The internet makes it private and secure to search for addiction treatment centers, rehabilitation centers, or other resources. This makes it a bit easy for people to search the internet for treatment facilities, recovery centers, or other resources about addiction.
This is where you need to be and the goals you should set to ensure you are right in front of them when needed. Here, we will help you with a couple of options when putting your rehab center right where it is needed.
SEO for Drug Rehab Centers
SEO (search engine optimization) refers to optimizing your website to rank higher in Google search results. It involves several steps that every rehab center must follow for a successful lead generation campaign.
Keyword research is the leading step in optimizing your website. You can use the Google Keyword Planner SEO tool to find the keywords people use to search for your industry.
Knowing these keywords is vital so that you and your audience can communicate in the same language. This makes it easier for you to be found and for them to get the results they need.
Next, you can use these keywords on various pages of your website. However, keep in mind that one primary keyword per page will bring better results. This will improve the ranking of your pages when someone searches for keywords that are specific to your niche.
It also allows you to grab their attention rather than letting them go to your competitors.
SEO includes more than keywords. It also contains site design, SEO coding, optimized HTML coding, compressed images, embedded videos, etc. Combining these attributes can create an attractive Internet presence for your addiction treatment center.
Search engine optimization for drug rehab is still the most crucial aspect of online recovery/addiction marketing.
It is the best lead generation strategy and should be a priority for your company. Search engines work like librarians, and they are where most people will be searching.
They direct users to valid, solid information.
The search algorithm aims to give the most relevant and high-quality results for a person’s search. You want your website to be found in these search results. The first three organic search results make up 60% of page clicks. Three out of four people do not scroll past the first page in search results.
The websites will rank the highest if they meet specific criteria, which we will share with you, so you have all the content related to making your drug rehab center where everyone reaches out:
- Provide valuable content.
Your website must provide value and be read by people. A blog is the best way to do this. People search online for information on substance abuse, treatment, and recovery. Your website may be one of their first stops.
You might be able to convince someone to check out your treatment program, either for themselves or for a loved one. Your search ranking and lead generation will improve as more people visit your site.
- Keywords.
As we mentioned earlier, search engines analyze keywords to find content that matches those keywords.
You must optimize your content for the keywords people are likely to search for, often with more specific keywords.
A blog about addiction can rank well for critical keywords such as “what is addiction?” Or an article about horse therapy at your facility may rank for long-tail keywords such as “where can I find a drug rehabilitation that uses equine treatment?” It would help if you had a variety of keywords.
- Backlinks.
Those are links to your site that appear on other websites. Search engines are alerted when a site links to your site.
Every backlink acts as a vote of trust, which gives your site more credibility. As you build backlinks, your site will be more valued. It is important to share helpful content and network with other organizations and brands to gain backlinks.
It is essential to create and optimize the content for keywords, get links from other websites, then keep producing valuable content.
Social Media Builds Community and Your Brand
An average American spends around two hours online per day on social networking sites. Social media accounts account for a large portion of people’s day.
Facebook is the most popular and most significant platform.
Facebook is also designed for mobile phones. Mobile internet usage has been steadily rising over the years. Nearly 20% of people access the internet via their smartphones at this time, and they are on this social media.
This means a large and active audience available to reach via social media marketing efforts on Facebook and other social media platforms.
Social media is, to begin with, a way to build community. While you may get likes on your page, your brand also gains a large following. If you want to maintain those followers, keep making it and staying engaged with them.
Social media can be an excellent way for alumni to keep in touch after treatment. You can also continue to offer resources for their recovery or announce events.
Make sure you post links from your website to your social media pages since this is key to driving traffic. If a post is shared, that content might be seen by a wider audience than your followers.
You can share resources from other sites so that your community has a reason for you to keep following your page and interacting with it.
Your brand’s reputation will grow by building that community. Your alumni and your following are connected to your program in a way.
Engaging with them will increase their likelihood of sharing your content online, leaving positive reviews, referring others, and giving you sales-qualified leads.
Your program’s visibility online is also increased by a social media presence. This allows people to recognize your brand and your SEO strategies.
Facebook ads are very effective as well because there is such a broad and diverse audience who use social media platforms frequently. They can reach large mobile audiences, are generally less expensive than other forms of online advertising, and allow you to target specific audiences.
Rehab Centers Need Content Marketing
Content marketing refers to creating individual pages or blog posts on a topic that offer detailed information. There are two main reasons why content marketing is effective:
- It increases the reach of your site by including more keywords.
- It makes it clear that you are an authority in your field.
Although content marketing is often considered part of SEO, it has become so essential that you should discuss it separately.
Content is a critical component of any drug rehab marketing strategy. Quality content is essential, and it must be created consistently and frequently.
You may be overwhelmed by the whole process of creating content. You can make yourself a valuable online resource by hiring a sales team with content creation knowledge.
Every blog on your website adds to the number of pages indexed. Companies with more pages indexed get three times the number of leads. You can offer articles on various topics by including a blog on your website.
- Patterns of substance abuse.
- How loved ones can support those in need.
- Your program may offer unique therapies.
- What are the characteristics of addiction treatment centers?
- Emerging addiction research.
- Tools to aid someone in their recovery.
These ideas are not the only ones that you have. You can increase your brand’s visibility online by creating helpful content that is always related or almost connected.
This high-quality content is more likely to be read, which means more visitors to your website. It is also expected to get linked to other sites as a resource. Blogs have, on average, 55% more visitors than those that do not.
You can increase your visibility and attract more visitors to your site by sharing content from your blog on social media. It is more likely that social media users will share it if the content is useful or interesting.
You will gain more credibility online as you create helpful content. This is true for both search engines and users.
People will more easily recognize your brand if your treatment program is found in search results or its name is associated with an interesting article on Facebook.
Your treatment program will be more popular if you are well-known. Your content is a powerful branding tool. Blogs can highlight the exceptional services you offer in your treatment program.
Targeted creative content builds trust and gives visitors information about your brand. You can also include calls to action in your content.
Encourage someone to contact you if they are looking for equine therapy on the internet.
PPC for Rehabilitation Centers
Pay-per-click (PPC) is advertising that allows businesses and individuals to place ads on websites like Google. However, you only pay for the clicks of your ad.
Google AdWords is its PPC platform. This allows your website to appear above or beside organic listings and costs a small fee.
It is the most widely used PPC network globally and allows you to reach potential customers even before your SEO strategy begins showing results.
AdWords is an auction system. It runs each time someone searches for something. Your maximum bid is the amount you are willing to pay per click. Your ad could or might not appear, depending on how your competitors bid.
You have a good chance of being at the top of the list if you bid higher than your competitors.
Remember that PPC does not cost anything to have your ad displayed. Google allows you to display ads on Google for free. You pay when an individual clicks on the ad.
If someone clicks on your ad, they have the chance to become a client. If they choose not to, you do not have to pay anything.
PPC can help you grow and get high-quality leads by combining it with SEO and content marketing.
You can use PPC in the lead generation process to target more difficult keywords while you work to rank your website in organic search results.
To bridge the gap between creating your content and ranking it high, you can pay for just a few clicks. This helps to attract clients while also helping you build your online reputation.
Once you are established, you can use PPC to reach people searching for high-competition keywords within your industry. A targeted solid PPC lead generation campaign can be worth the additional investment to get sales qualified leads from high-traffic, high-converting search terms.
You must be LegitScript certified if you intend to use PPC for rehab marketing strategies. This certification process verifies all ads to ensure that rehab centers are not scamming patients. If you want to put an ad on Facebook or Google, you must apply to become certified.
A landing page is the most critical element of a PPC campaign. This page is where online traffic will be directed when they click on your advertisement.
Your landing page must have a concise message and call to action. Contact information should also be easy to find. You will need to provide concise and compelling text, a user-friendly layout, and high-quality design.
These factors all contribute to how long users stay on a page and how trusting they are with that page.
Like SEO, creating excellent landing pages requires special skills and a deep understanding of drug rehab marketing. It would help if you created customizable landing pages to help your treatment programs.
You can create a micro-website with the ability to duplicate landing pages and modify them to match your PPC ads.
This will allow you to have higher-quality landing pages specifically designed for the keywords someone searched before clicking your ad.
We do not believe that brands should be robbed of their creative control. You can still choose which pages your paid traffic will go to, but the right landing pages ensure that your leads will be relevant and convert.
Google My Business to Find Rehab Centers
Google My Business registration is one of the best ways to reach local customers and generate leads. This helps you and your rehab center appear in local search results so that potential clients can find you near them.
You can use it to list your name, address, phone number, and office hours for all your essential information in one location.
Mobile search is the key benefit of Google My Business. Nearly 50% of all searches are mobile, with most local businesses being represented by mobile searches. You can prove to someone that you are the best option if they are on the move and search for drug rehab centers in their area on a mobile device.
Google My Business is an excellent combination of the other strategies for generating leads listed on this page.
You have a high chance of success in search engine result pages because your content marketing and SEO will improve your pages’ ranking in organic search results. Your PPC campaign will allow you to display competitive keywords, and your Google My Business account can help you reach local users.
This means you are taking up three search results pages, three more than you can deny your competition.
Email Marketing for Bringing More People in Need
Email marketing involves sending messages to interested leads to encourage them to return to your site and convert. This is one of the most active forms of lead nurturing and can make the difference in converting a lead to a paying client or abandoning your website.
This lead generation strategy is not related to spam. Email marketing is only for people who want to hear from your company.
By asking them for their email address and name via “opt-in” subscription forms, you can ensure they are interested in hearing from you. This will ensure that you do not bother people with unwelcome messages.
You can integrate Opt-in marketing strategies such as pop-unders and pop-ups on any page. You can even use them on multiple pages to see which page convinced someone to sign up, which will help you better nurture the lead.
If someone gives you their email address to learn more about your treatment method, you can send them follow-up messages and keep their attention on you.
Email marketing should make it easy for clients and prospects to unsubscribe. It may seem counterintuitive, but it is beneficial to you and your recipients. If someone does not want to hear back from you, they will not be a qualified lead.
You will also build a reputation for spamming them if you keep sending them unwanted messages. It is best to let them go.
Email marketing offers excellent opportunities for A/B testing, optimization, and other features. You can use Email to determine which subject lines are most effective in getting people to open your emails, what body text keeps them interested, and what links bring them back to your site.
Using all this data, you can optimize your Email to get the best results each time you send it.
The Local Lead Generation Process for Your Drug Rehab Business
All right! So, everything is about building properties and generating leads. But how does the process actually take place? Are there other steps I need to know?
The steps I mention below are what students from our local lead generation program follow to generate leads for businesses like yourself. So I’ll help you see what we do. And how if you join our program, you can simply generate leads for your own business (unless you want to start a side hustle and build a laptop lifestyle business).
Essentially, our lead generation can be divided into four steps:
The first is prospecting. You need to take the time to do market research on a niche (industry) and determine how many phone-driven businesses are there.
Keep in mind that this is local research as you need to know how many companies need leads. For example, you may search for “plumbing services Youngstown OH.”
You will find dozens or even hundreds of businesses trying to get themselves in front of the customers by ranking on Map Listings, organic results, and even Ad.
The second step, building. When you find a niche (plumbing, tree services, a software company, real estate…), you will need to start building your digital properties. You don’t need to be an expert in HTML or coding. It can be easy with the right tools.
The third step is now taking time to rank your lead gen website. With the site done, you need to work on SEO strategies and start dominating those Google search results. If you’re new to SEO, it stands for Search Engine Optimization.
To keep it simple, it consists of the entire process of growing a company’s visibility on search engines like Google and generating organic traffic. And remember this, local lead generation is part of the strategies.
Moving on to step four, once you rank the site, you will start getting your ROI and profits. You only need to rent it out to a local business interested in the leads the site generates. You can offer a couple of free leads to their move on with the actual pay per lead.
To review steps 1-4 above, I described it to a normal student who is building a lead gen business to help local service providers generate more calls. But replace the student with you as the business owner. And replace sending the leads to a business to simply siphoning the leads to your personal business.
By the way, fun fact, about 20% of our students in our local lead gen program are actually business owners who went through the program. And they use the skillsets we teach to generate leads for their own business.
An Example of Lead Generation: Home Advisor
You must be thinking, “if lead generation sounds so good so far, how come I haven’t seen any company?” That’s the thing; there are many out there. You just don’t know they are dedicated to it.
HomeAdvisor is one of the best examples you can find on the Internet as it is a top lead generation company that has spent millions building its brand but also earned even more zeros for this same reason.
They started small as everyone else but invested in building their brand awareness to make people who are looking for home services go to their website and find what they need. They are over 75% of people’s first choice when they need those services.
If you don’t get HomeAdvisor that much or need a refresh, users need to submit their information to request a service and get a professional or expert who can provide it.
HomeAdvisor’s job is to share your information, which makes you a lead, with local companies so they can contact you and offer the service you’re requesting. For sharing this lead information, HomeAdvisor gets paid by the companies. This happens for every single lead they send to multiple businesses.
Business owners who don’t have marketing skills or don’t even know how to have any online presence will always rely on those pages to list their services. They will save time and effort, but companies like HomeAdvisor can make them spend lots of money as leads aren’t exclusive (one lead is sent to multiple companies after all).
Using Facebook Ads aka Paid Ad Platforms: Do They Generate Leads?
They DO generate leads. If not, no one would use them.
However, you need to remember two facts:
- Paid ads or platforms can be expensive.
- They don’t generate “natural” leads.
Whenever someone sees or clicks in one of those ads, over 80% of them did it by accident or are trying to close/report it.
Why? Because they aren’t looking for those services. At least not at the moment.
What those ads do instead is interrupt their time on the platforms. Users aren’t there to find companies or businesses unless they are searching for a specific company’s user, and for that, there’s a search bar. This is why it is hard to convert them to actual customers who will show interest in the companies’ services. Also, you’re limited by a budget.
When using lead generation, everything is organic. You aren’t forcing others to pay attention to your business but rather being there when they need you. This is why Google’s organic traffic will always beat paid ads, and the reason companies continue investing in it, which is a lot cheaper as well.
What Is Local SEO?
Don’t worry… I didn’t get it at first either. Following the short explanation, local SEO focuses on scaling businesses’ visibility on search engines. However, this is only for those who serve their communities face-to-face.
What does this mean?
Experts and professionals like painters, plumbers, and dentists (but not only them) offer their services to their local customers. Why? Because they can’t deliver them unless they are located in the same area of their customers.
To make sure those businesses get more leads, you need to rank them locally by claiming the business listing on Google to place them on Map Listings. Local SEO also involves online reviews, citation management, and how you manage your entire online presence in the local area.
If you are going to bet on lead gen, you need to adapt yourself to today’s world: The Internet.
Keep in mind that although traditional channels and methods like billboards, warm calls, and pamphlets still work, they aren’t part of your tools. Whenever someone needs a service, they go to Google and search for it.
“Dentist in Miami” or “plumbing services in Orlando,” etc. And you can keep coming up with services or professionals people need and look for. Thus, you need to make sure you’re using Google to get the companies in front of their clients.
Users will always click on the first search results (those near the top), and many of them will be either Ad links (people paid to place their websites there), Map Listing, and then you get websites. Almost all of them are your goal and where you should always aim to place yourself.
Can My Drug Rehab Business Utilize a Local Lead Generation Strategy?
If you want customers, you better know you need it. Following the previous explanation, lead gen is all about placing businesses in front of their customers, choosing them over their competitors.
Put it simply – it’s all about closing deals and having clients for those companies to make money. The main difference with the usual methods companies use for this is how lead generation approaches different channels to get them in the right place of the market to get customers.
Those channels are all focused on the Internet as most people are searching for products but also services across the net. The issue is that the Internet is way too broad, and businesses don’t know how to place themselves. They usually try, but they get one common result: losing money and time.
How Powerful Are Organic Drug Rehab Leads from Google?
For companies looking for customers, it’s everything. For you? Pretty much the same. When you build a business with digital properties, you get to make thousands of dollars a month.
This isn’t a “get started today and get rich tomorrow” thing, but it is HIGHLY scalable, and ROI + positive results are guaranteed. Learning a fairly decent and very needed set of skills to create your digital properties and start ranking them on Google is required.
I have invested in several online businesses over the years, and if there’s something uncertain, whether you will get your ROI or not, even more than the actual profit.
However, this business moved my earnings from five figures a year to a month in ONLY passive income while sitting comfortably at home.
On my laptop. Anywhere. Anytime.
You can look at one of the first sites I built back in 2016, and it continues making me over $1.000+ every month. The best part is that I don’t need to touch it or the rest I’ve built over the years, just like this digital property.
What Makes Lead Generation SO Alluring?
Here it goes: you can work from home.
The main issue with regular business opportunities is how much you need to invest in staff, equipment, or rent to have a place to sell your products or offer your services.
We all know the hassles of traditional businesses that involve regular expenses, which are extremely high. Can you afford it? I don’t think so, and even if you can, is it worth it? Now, it isn’t only about the money. You also need to put in a lot of work, and it isn’t only during the first couple of months or years. Usually, it is as long as you continue running it.
You can save yourself those headaches and bone-breaking tasks and expenses with lead gen since it is more about generating leads with digital channels—mainly websites.
Websites can be VERY cheap to build, and with many tools online, you get to do it in a couple of hours instead of days. Any virtual or digital business is scalable and won’t need constant maintenance.
So, let’s summarize this:
- You save money in regular expenses with traditional and most online businesses as what you need is yourself and digital properties (websites).
- You can bet on passive income.
- There’s no need to hire more people to get started.
- You can generate leads in multiple industries, which allows you to work on any niche you want.
