Although the traditional methods of reviews and referrals continue to be great ways to bring demolition leads and convert them into clients, you can’t just rely on them when it comes to your lead generation strategies.
After all, it is difficult to have a continuous stream of qualified demolition leads unless you incur in other strategies that can help you have a wider reach and boost your growth.
Therefore, you must implement and integrate more ways to generate leads and create a system of consistent lead flow that relies on the basic yet new and effective methods.
Not sure where to start with all these strategies you need or which ones are the best for a demolition business? We are here to help by including the main ones you should include in your marketing plan, but before that, are you clear about what is lead generation? No? That’s what we thought.
Understanding Lead Generation
If you are thinking, “I already know this,” we quite doubt it since most business owners and entrepreneurs think it is all about marketing, ads, and potential clients.
However, lead generation is deeper in terms of planning a successful system that can achieve a continuous influx of leads.
Thus, we just want to make sure everything about lead generation is clear so you can approach the strategies we will mention properly and understand why they’re crucial.
In most cases, lead generation works within a defined framework. This involves specific keys elements: acquiring traffic to your site, lead capture, and convincing traffic to provide their contact information for you to convert them into clients later.
You can either rely on the usually paid options or for the free and organic ones to drive traffic. This includes Search Engine Marketing (SEM), Search Engine Optimization (SEO), social media, displaying ads, offline events, and many more.
Lead magnets also play an important role in bringing traffic and turning every user into leads. Those magnets are the usual ones websites use to make users take action, which is usually giving their contact information. They include quizzes, surveys, and some free content.
After you have secured the visitor’s contact details using them, you can move them on to the next stage of your funnel, lead scoring. This part can be automated as you grow and your prospects increase.
The lead scoring will determine whether a lead is qualified or not, and to understand it, a sales qualified lead is a person who is sufficiently interested in your marketing process but not ready to buy.
This is the point at which the lead will be passed to your sales team. They will nurture the lead through the rest of the funnel until eventually becoming a paying customer.
Just to summarize it a bit, everything is about 1) generating traffic, 2) capture their attention, 3) getting their contact information, 4) nurture your potential leads, and 5) boost your funnel.
With this clear, we can move on with the strategies.
Build Your Website
Websites are essential for every business, especially for lead generation, since this is where you will drive them when making contact through ads or other methods previously mentioned when generating traffic.
Besides, it is usually the quickest way to rank on Google and deal with the rest of the strategies we will mention.
When thinking about building it or working in the process, make sure you do research about your competitors and have a look at their sites to determine how you can generate more demolition leads with the aesthetics as a plus.
Also, to ensure potential clients can contact you quickly, your contact information should be clearly displayed.
Your website can be used to showcase your talents, and past projects can be a great way for potential customers to see what you can do.
You can also include testimonials from clients that you have worked with or continue to work with to help build your reputation and keep you in the minds of potential clients.
Now, you might be wondering if it is really that easy to build a website. Although it isn’t, you have many options to choose from that are perfect for beginners or until you are able to finance a more professional yet more advanced option.
Referrals & Reviews: We Didn’t Say They Weren’t Crucial
We know what we mentioned in the beginning, but we weren’t trying to say you shouldn’t focus on this strategy anymore or to begin with.
How could we say that when, believe it or not, it is one of the best ways for demolition leads to be generated?
To make this strategy work, you can ask for testimonials after a job has been completed to allow future customers to see real reviews.
If you didn’t know, people trust brands 90% more when they have been recommended by someone else, especially friends and family members.
You can ask your friends or relatives for recommendations and tell them you can add some free services or discounts when needed if they bring some clients your way. The same applies to old clients that referred you to people they know.
This is our favorite way to find demolition leads because as long as you offer great services and your customers are satisfied, they will refer you without hesitation.
If you want to maximize the leads you can generate with this strategy, just focus on your service, and for it, here are some tips to help you provide it:
- Do not be late. Be on time.
- Your customers will be thankful if you keep your word.
- Professionalism is important.
- Be polite and courteous when dealing with customers.
- Make sure to tidy up your job site.
LinkedIn is perhaps the best channel to target decision-makers and identify them. If we follow the statistics released by the platform, four of five users use it to drive business decisions for their companies.
This makes it an ideal ground for lead generation regardless of your niche.
In LinkedIn, you can contact users directly to find new leads and potential clients. However, it is easier and quicker to use the Lead Generation Forms tool.
These ads do not redirect people to external forms pages but instead autofill their contact details as part of the interface. This makes it easier for potential leads to sign up and reduces friction in your funnel.
Also, the platform released Product Pages in December 2020. This feature allows you to collect referrals and reviews about your products and services and also lets you include a custom CTA (call-to-action) such as a contact form or demo request.
If you are not using it, we encourage you to do so if you want to capture more people’s attention that is usually outside of the traditional sites and places you would use with digital lead generation.
Create Regular Quality Content
It is only logical that people will overlook your business if you don’t have something to offer, something valuable at that.
This is why you need to try creating quality content on a regular basis, so your potential clients and visitors can find something they are interested in beyond the usual “buy me” messages and signs you hang everywhere on your website.
To rely on this strategy, make sure you include content that isn’t only in the traditional way of adding more details to your site or social media but also provide the content through blogs, videos, infographics, podcasts, emails, and other options and formats that can attract more traffic and demolition leads.
As long as your content is interesting and attracts attention, you can use any type of content to create and focus on marketing qualified leads.
To reach as many people as possible, you should also make sure that your content is distributed on multiple digital platforms. This includes your website and social media pages.
Part of the key to making this strategy work is to remember to provide solutions for consumers’ problems, so they find your content useful in the long run.
You can blog about your business and include insights, tips, and strategies. To attract readers. You can increase traffic to your site and convert visitors to customers by doing this.
Don’t Miss Email Marketing
Emails or newsletters can be one of the most powerful tools to generate leads, but they are often neglected because people think they are outdated to rely on them.
However, according to Content Marketing Institute, emails are second, with social media ranking first as the most effective content format for advertising and lead generation.
Why? Because they can allow you to share your content with potential clients or customers by directly contacting them and not waiting for them to take the first step all the time. But for this, you need their email addresses first.
By encouraging customers to sign up for your newsletter, you can build an email database.
To redirect your readers to your sign-up page, you can insert a CTA button or link into your blog posts, social media posts, or overall website. Subscribers will sign up for your newsletter if they are interested and if you have something valuable to offer, which takes us to the previous strategy.
Your email list will eventually grow, and you can build a stronger relationship with customers by encouraging them to sign up for your email list.
If You Built It, Optimize It As Well
We briefly mentioned it during the first part, but we have to go back to the fact that lead generation is dependent on website optimization.
After all, your website is where customers find information about your business, and to generate more leads, optimizing your website for SEO is the key.
There are many ways you can do this.
One way is to find the page that gets the most traffic. To engage potential customers, include a form or CTA on that page. Encourage them to sign up or follow your social media pages.
To identify the best CTA to increase click-through rates (CTR), you can also conduct A/B testing.
A/B testing is a method that improves the user experience by trying out two different versions. Two variations of the same web page could be created with different CTAs.
Analyze the results of A/B testing to determine which CTA generates more leads.
Of course, the traditional SEO includes using the natural keywords that must be included in your content to ensure you are getting organic traffic from the search engines based on searches by betting on the specific information your leads are looking for.
Cultivate Your Social Media Presence
We know we don’t really have to mention it, but for demolition businesses or companies, social media doesn’t really seem like the best idea.
However, social media marketing is an excellent strategy to grow your audience. In 2021, most companies, regardless of their niche, have generated more leads and clients thanks to their efforts in the platforms compared to using their websites and traditional options.
If you want to jump in and bet for the option, focus on engaging with your target audience via the social media networks of your choice.
You can choose a social media platform that meets your needs based on your goals, preferences, and where your target audience is spending most of its time.
LinkedIn may be the best platform for B2B marketing since over 90% of B2B content marketers use LinkedIn as the contacting point.
These numbers speak volumes about the reliability of LinkedIn over the last decade. To connect with potential clients, you can also join communities.
If your marketing strategy revolves around everyday consumers’ needs and interests, you might consider using social media networks like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or any other frequent platform by regular users.
These platforms can be used to promote your business and generate leads.
Whatever social media platform you use, engage with your followers through regular content publishing and responding to comments and interactions.
Integrate Live Chat to Your Site
Customers or clients will always have a bunch of questions before, during, and after they decide to hire you, which is why a chat is a great way for customers to interact with you as soon as they visit your site and make it easy for them to make a decision.
This communication gives you the opportunity to guide, answer their questions, and understand their needs while also capturing the most qualified leads you need.
Why is this strategy so effective? Because the modern generation expects faster responses, quicker resolutions, and extraordinary customer service. Otherwise, they won’t be willing to hire you or even consider you.
But how does this method helps you in specific? There are several ways:
- It increases conversion rates: Customers can instantly connect with live chat agents to resolve any issues they have. This reduces waiting times and increases customer satisfaction while bringing better conversion rates.
- It collects customer contact details: Before connecting customers with agents or your sales team, ask them to complete a form with their email and phone number. This allows for follow-up and builds the email list you need for the previous strategy.
- Live chat with customers returning to you: Your details will be available immediately after they initiate live chat. This builds trust and can have a positive effect on lead generation.
- 24-hour availability: Users can reach you at any time. Live customer service is available 24/7 to ensure you never miss any potential leads if you decide to offer this option, which we highly recommend to obtain the best results.
When you focus on these options and benefits, live chat can help you connect with 40% more of your visitors, turn half of them into high-quality leads, and later convert them into customers.
Visitors often visit your website, ready to purchase. However, if they don’t have someone to help them or answer any questions, they might lose interest in your company and move to a competitor.
Trust is also fostered through live chat. It’s more enjoyable for users to feel like they’re dealing with a person in real life than having to read a bunch of answers to common questions that usually have nothing to do with theirs.
Use a CRM Software
As much as we know you want to save money, investing in CRM to increase sales productivity is a must for any company in 2021 and the following years.
CRM tools are essential since they help you understand and plan for consumer behavior and market trends.
Properly using your CRM software includes:
- Customer analytics: CRM analytical instruments can retrieve data about age, purchasing habits, and geographic locations. This information can be used to adjust your outreach strategy for generating leads.
- Nurturing leads: Once your data is in place, you need to reach out quickly. The email marketing software in your CRM can help you reach the right customers at just the right time.
- You can integrate your CRM with live chat software: This will allow you to record and review chat conversations and chat history in your CRM tool. You can better serve your customers by having all the information you need.
You can generate more demolition leads by using CRM by connecting with potential clients more professionally.
PPC (Pay-per-Click) Ads Are Worth It
As much as people don’t want to invest in paid options, PPC is key for any business, especially when reports have shown that the top three paid ads receive 41% more clicks on their pages, leading to many more leads and converted clients.
Pay-per-click (or PPC) is a common model in internet marketing where the advertiser receives a fee each time a user clicks one of their ads, and the good part is that it isn’t expensive at all.
PPC ads are unique in that they appear immediately on the user’s first search page. This allows you to reach the most relevant audience and inform them about your product.
What is the role of PPC in generating leads?
- Reach visitors searching for similar products or services.
- Increases traffic to your site and immediately ranks for keywords.
- It is possible to identify the needs of your audience and craft your message/email accordingly.
- Track ROI down to the Cent.
- Expand your lead database and re-market them accordingly.
If used correctly, PPC can deliver exceptional results. To get the best ROI, you must analyze your keywords and target markets since the time, effort, and money will go to waste without proper research and planning.
If you’re willing to do your research about your products, target audience, and budget, as well as to employ the right expertise, PPC can be a great way to generate leads.
Freebies Mean More Leads
We will mention this every single time and as much as we can: Offering your visitors freebies is a great way to gather data and generate leads since everyone loves something that is free and valuable.
This strategy is usually more psychological since not all sellers and companies offer value in their freebies but achieve the purpose behind them. After all, users will happily give you their information if they find a freebie, but if it is useful, they are bound to return.
If you don’t have a clear idea of how to work with freebies or which ones can be included, you can consider these:
- Newsletter: A newsletter can be offered that contains unique and informative content. You need to grab the user’s attention by using catchy one-liners that make them feel they have to provide their information.
- Ebooks: Who doesn’t want informative and free eBooks? In exchange for your customers’ data, you can offer them handy eBooks about tips, strategies, or detailed information related to the demolition niche.
- Whitepapers: Your users can be convinced by providing them with different ideas and content regarding your product or service.
Are You Doing This, But You’re Not Generating Leads?
We have heard that before, and believe us when we say: We understand you.
Many people will say, “this isn’t working,” or “I already know that.” It’s perfectly fine to say that it’s not working, but you need to find the answer to why it isn’t.
We decided to add a few of the problems you might face or bring difficulties to your path to help find that answer.
These are the reasons you’ll usually need to fix as you create new strategies around those previously mentioned:
- You are not giving the right information or choosing the right time.
Different buyers may require different products at different times. A buyer might need something at the beginning and another at the end of a sales process.
If you hurry to pitch your products or services, it will only frustrate them. Lead generation success is dependent on understanding how modern B2B and B2C buyers select their services and products.
It is important to know when potential customers are ready to get more information and how they prefer to receive it. A buyer might search Google for solutions after learning about a problem in demolition, but this doesn’t mean they are willing to hire service right away.
- It’s about you and them.
You may feel tempted to mention everything about your demolition services, but people don’t want to feel too overwhelmed with this information.
Besides, it’s not about you and what you do; it’s about the target audience and what they need.
Instead of trying to sell your services, you should focus on creating content that informs, educates, and entertains. Your target audience should be able to identify topics that are valuable and relevant.
For this, you can start by having a look at your website. Was it designed with your clients, visitors, and potential leads in mind? Is it a website that promotes your company and the services you offer? Or is it focused on thinking in the client?
People are searching for information and services. They want to know the answers to their questions as soon as possible, so find a valance between offering your services but also being useful to your leads.
Do You Need Lead Generation?
People have been there wondering if a lead generation strategy or the entire element overall, is actually a must or necessary for their demolition businesses or any other entrepreneurship.
Many will argue that they tried all of these options before, or just a few, and failed, which is why they don’t feel like it is worth or necessary, but as we have said, it all depends on how you do each alternative and to keep it simple, yes, you do need lead gean.
We know it can be exhausting to work around it, but it is the only way to bring clients to your business and close deals to generate income.
Thus, we are sure you will find a balance and feel comfortable with the previous strategies at some point. Just remember: Keep going.
The Local Lead Generation Process for Your Demolition Business
All right! So, everything is about building properties and generating leads. But how does the process actually take place? Are there other steps I need to know?
The steps I mention below are what students from our local lead generation program follow to generate leads for businesses like yourself. So I’ll help you see what we do. And how if you join our program, you can simply generate leads for your own business (unless you want to start a side hustle and build a laptop lifestyle business).
Essentially, our lead generation can be divided into four steps:
The first is prospecting. You need to take the time to do market research on a niche (industry) and determine how many phone-driven businesses are there.
Keep in mind that this is local research as you need to know how many companies need leads. For example, you may search for “plumbing services Youngstown OH.”
You will find dozens or even hundreds of businesses trying to get themselves in front of the customers by ranking on Map Listings, organic results, and even Ad.
The second step, building. When you find a niche (plumbing, tree services, a software company, real estate…), you will need to start building your digital properties. You don’t need to be an expert in HTML or coding. It can be easy with the right tools.
The third step is now taking time to rank your lead gen website. With the site done, you need to work on SEO strategies and start dominating those Google search results. If you’re new to SEO, it stands for Search Engine Optimization.
To keep it simple, it consists of the entire process of growing a company’s visibility on search engines like Google and generating organic traffic. And remember this, local lead generation is part of the strategies.
Moving on to step four, once you rank the site, you will start getting your ROI and profits. You only need to rent it out to a local business interested in the leads the site generates. You can offer a couple of free leads to their move on with the actual pay per lead.
To review steps 1-4 above, I described it to a normal student who is building a lead gen business to help local service providers generate more calls. But replace the student with you as the business owner. And replace sending the leads to a business to simply siphoning the leads to your personal business.
By the way, fun fact, about 20% of our students in our local lead gen program are actually business owners who went through the program. And they use the skillsets we teach to generate leads for their own business.
An Example of Lead Generation: Home Advisor
You must be thinking, “if lead generation sounds so good so far, how come I haven’t seen any company?” That’s the thing; there are many out there. You just don’t know they are dedicated to it.
HomeAdvisor is one of the best examples you can find on the Internet as it is a top lead generation company that has spent millions building its brand but also earned even more zeros for this same reason.
They started small as everyone else but invested in building their brand awareness to make people who are looking for home services go to their website and find what they need. They are over 75% of people’s first choice when they need those services.
If you don’t get HomeAdvisor that much or need a refresh, users need to submit their information to request a service and get a professional or expert who can provide it.
HomeAdvisor’s job is to share your information, which makes you a lead, with local companies so they can contact you and offer the service you’re requesting. For sharing this lead information, HomeAdvisor gets paid by the companies. This happens for every single lead they send to multiple businesses.
Business owners who don’t have marketing skills or don’t even know how to have any online presence will always rely on those pages to list their services. They will save time and effort, but companies like HomeAdvisor can make them spend lots of money as leads aren’t exclusive (one lead is sent to multiple companies after all).
Using Facebook Ads aka Paid Ad Platforms: Do They Generate Leads?
They DO generate leads. If not, no one would use them.
However, you need to remember two facts:
- Paid ads or platforms can be expensive.
- They don’t generate “natural” leads.
Whenever someone sees or clicks in one of those ads, over 80% of them did it by accident or are trying to close/report it.
Why? Because they aren’t looking for those services. At least not at the moment.
What those ads do instead is interrupt their time on the platforms. Users aren’t there to find companies or businesses unless they are searching for a specific company’s user, and for that, there’s a search bar. This is why it is hard to convert them to actual customers who will show interest in the companies’ services. Also, you’re limited by a budget.
When using lead generation, everything is organic. You aren’t forcing others to pay attention to your business but rather being there when they need you. This is why Google’s organic traffic will always beat paid ads, and the reason companies continue investing in it, which is a lot cheaper as well.
What Is Local SEO?
Don’t worry… I didn’t get it at first either. Following the short explanation, local SEO focuses on scaling businesses’ visibility on search engines. However, this is only for those who serve their communities face-to-face.
What does this mean?
Experts and professionals like painters, plumbers, and dentists (but not only them) offer their services to their local customers. Why? Because they can’t deliver them unless they are located in the same area of their customers.
To make sure those businesses get more leads, you need to rank them locally by claiming the business listing on Google to place them on Map Listings. Local SEO also involves online reviews, citation management, and how you manage your entire online presence in the local area.
If you are going to bet on lead gen, you need to adapt yourself to today’s world: The Internet.
Keep in mind that although traditional channels and methods like billboards, warm calls, and pamphlets still work, they aren’t part of your tools. Whenever someone needs a service, they go to Google and search for it.
“Dentist in Miami” or “plumbing services in Orlando,” etc. And you can keep coming up with services or professionals people need and look for. Thus, you need to make sure you’re using Google to get the companies in front of their clients.
Users will always click on the first search results (those near the top), and many of them will be either Ad links (people paid to place their websites there), Map Listing, and then you get websites. Almost all of them are your goal and where you should always aim to place yourself.
Can My Demolition Business Utilize a Local Lead Generation Strategy?
If you want customers, you better know you need it. Following the previous explanation, lead gen is all about placing businesses in front of their customers, choosing them over their competitors.
Put it simply – it’s all about closing deals and having clients for those companies to make money. The main difference with the usual methods companies use for this is how lead generation approaches different channels to get them in the right place of the market to get customers.
Those channels are all focused on the Internet as most people are searching for products but also services across the net. The issue is that the Internet is way too broad, and businesses don’t know how to place themselves. They usually try, but they get one common result: losing money and time.
How Powerful Are Organic Demolition Leads from Google?
For companies looking for customers, it’s everything. For you? Pretty much the same. When you build a business with digital properties, you get to make thousands of dollars a month.
This isn’t a “get started today and get rich tomorrow” thing, but it is HIGHLY scalable, and ROI + positive results are guaranteed. Learning a fairly decent and very needed set of skills to create your digital properties and start ranking them on Google is required.
I have invested in several online businesses over the years, and if there’s something uncertain, whether you will get your ROI or not, even more than the actual profit.
However, this business moved my earnings from five figures a year to a month in ONLY passive income while sitting comfortably at home.
On my laptop. Anywhere. Anytime.
You can look at one of the first sites I built back in 2016, and it continues making me over $1.000+ every month. The best part is that I don’t need to touch it or the rest I’ve built over the years, just like this digital property.
What Makes Lead Generation SO Alluring?
Here it goes: you can work from home.
The main issue with regular business opportunities is how much you need to invest in staff, equipment, or rent to have a place to sell your products or offer your services.
We all know the hassles of traditional businesses that involve regular expenses, which are extremely high. Can you afford it? I don’t think so, and even if you can, is it worth it? Now, it isn’t only about the money. You also need to put in a lot of work, and it isn’t only during the first couple of months or years. Usually, it is as long as you continue running it.
You can save yourself those headaches and bone-breaking tasks and expenses with lead gen since it is more about generating leads with digital channels—mainly websites.
Websites can be VERY cheap to build, and with many tools online, you get to do it in a couple of hours instead of days. Any virtual or digital business is scalable and won’t need constant maintenance.
So, let’s summarize this:
- You save money in regular expenses with traditional and most online businesses as what you need is yourself and digital properties (websites).
- You can bet on passive income.
- There’s no need to hire more people to get started.
- You can generate leads in multiple industries, which allows you to work on any niche you want.
How Can I Get Started in the Local Lead Generation Program?
Anyone can start and learn. That’s the beauty of this business model. I knew nothing about SEO, Map Listing, and everything I’ve mentioned so far. It is all about learning the skills, gaining experience, and deciding to take the step.
Remember that this business model will never get old as business owners are always looking for leads. They need to do business and scale their companies. Why not do the same while helping others and still making money?
You can start with this local lead generation course highly recommended for anyone wanting to grow in the business. It is a close training that will take you through each step and make sure you are able to get your ROI, profits and take control of your life.
