No matter what business you start, getting more clients and closing deals is what will keep it alive. Generating truck rental leads on demand is also a skillet to learn that one must put the time and effort in. Everyone understands this in the truck rental industry, but many people have difficulty understanding how to get truck rental leads despite their efforts so far.
It can be difficult to figure out how to generate leads or what works better for your company in specific. But you don’t have to give up if you decide to invest time in the right techniques and understand that it can take some time.
You can actually have more success in sales than luck if you use proven lead generation strategies. Stop playing the roulette with your sales and start working on your online presence, investing in Google Ads smartly, and ensure you are aiming at the right target audience, just to name a few things you need to do.
To help you with this whole challenge, we decided it would be good to start working around your needs and provide some tips and lead generation tools and strategies to boost your chances.
However, what about starting with the basics?
What is Lead Generation?
If you think about lead generation as marketing, you are quite there. After all, the latter is about generating customer interest in your business. This usually involves customers initiating a conversation with you or giving you their contact information to follow up on your business’s products and services.
Most companies that work with services are bound to receive information about potential clients when setting a good strategy to start the conversation and open a channel to start “nurturing” them.
This conversation can start anywhere, but to consider someone a client or potential one, they should usually contact the company via email, social media, or a very direct channel that is linked to your funnel.
Now, those clients or prospects we have mentioned so far will be your leads, and the process of finding them would be lead generation.
Part of finding new business leads is creating a marketing experience that allows customers to connect with your company. You may be wondering if you actually need lead generation or demand generation.
Lead generation strategies must always end in the exchange of contact information or payment information with prospects or a meeting in person.
The beauty about lead generation in specific and not other approaches is that it is very organic when done right, and you get lots of value for your company even if you do not close many sales.
What Is a Lead You Wonder?
Any person who expresses interest in your company services in any way, shape, or form is a considered a lead, but how you make it connect with you will make it a qualified lead.
In the case of truck rental, people can fill out a survey or form about how often they need such service, and this survey can lead them to receive an email from your company about how you can help by providing the service since they should give their contact info and your business is connected to the survey.
The process would be much less intrusive, and people will give you a chance most of the time or remember you whenever they require the service.
The whole “thing” of a lead is getting a prospect that should become a client in the future or is more likely to become one.
When an Internet user becomes a visitor, then you can get a lead, and each of them is an integral part of your company’s lifecycle.
Also, you ought to remember all leads are not created equal. Instead, they are classified in types based on their qualifications and lifecycle stage, and this is what you should pay more attention to:
Marketing Qualified Lead (MQL)
Marketing qualified contacts are people who have engaged with your marketing efforts but are not ready to receive a call.
Sales Qualified Lead (SQL)
Sales qualified prospects are people who have taken steps that indicate an interest in becoming customers. A contact filling out a form asking questions about your product or services is an example of an SQL.
Service Qualified Lead
Service qualified lead is a customer or contact who has indicated to you that they are interested in becoming a paying client. A customer may tell their customer service representative they would like to upgrade their product subscription.
Let’s Start with Your Lead Generation Strategies
Moving on with what you are interested in, let’s focus on how you can start generating your truck rental leads:
Identify Your Target Audience
First, identify your target audience and make sure the people you include in your sales pipeline are the right ones, or else you won’t generate any deals.
If you don’t know your ideal customer, it’s impossible to reach them and sell to them.
This is why you should always take the time to conduct research on your target market and then reduce the size of your reach to a target audience.
Focus on what they do, who they are, how much they can pay for services like yours, and where they live in specific.
Common yet crucial questions will be key to determining your audience.
Always Make a Sales Funnel
Once you have identified the target audience, you will need a plan to collect their contact information. Although this involves more than one simple lead generation strategy or the general approach we are commenting on in this section, we want you to deal with this aspect as a whole.
First, you need to funnel all prospects to a landing page or standard form that asks them to give their contact information. This is usually done in exchange for a gift, coupon, sample, or another value-added incentive.
It is crucial to have a customer relationship management (CRM), a database that helps you track potential customers throughout the process.
Then, nurture them based on the level or phase of the sales funnel they are in.
Most leads will be close to the buying or hiring process, but you need to work on the small steps before they reach this point if you do not want to overwhelm them and lose the prospects.
Use Email Newsletter for Generating Leads
Once you have established contact with prospects, you need to nurture those relationships in order to take them from the lead stage to a sale. An email newsletter is one of the best ways for prospects to communicate consistently.
When you plan your email marketing strategy, be sure to understand and comply with the parameters to avoid being labeled as spam in their inboxes, which could lead to a ban on your email account.
Now, you don’t have to use this newsletter to finish closing leads but also connect with them for the first time.
We are not referring to spamming them with emails without even knowing them or if they did not sign for the newsletter, but rather connect your company and their possible inboxes with an offer.
Connect and Engage with Others in Social Media
Small businesses have many opportunities to connect with potential customers and create new leads through social media.
To attract and engage your target audience, you can set up a Facebook, LinkedIn profile, Pinterest company page, or YouTube channel. Then, funnel them through your process to becoming leads.
You can also use social media to reach out to leads once they are in your system. Your business will gain trust from customers if they have positive experiences with you over time.
Lead generation should be considered a continuous, long-term process. You can simplify the lead generation process using the above sales lead tips. This will increase your business growth opportunities.
Keep in mind that social media platforms also open the option of paying for ads, which can be a great alternative when starting as they are cost-efficient.
But before you jump to this car, make sure your truck rental leads see the ads by learning about the right time, who they are, and going back to your targets.
Contribute by Guest Blogging
Guest blogging is a great way of generating referral business via Content Marketing and improving your SEO for the website you should have by now—and we kind of assumed you would include it in your company.
These are all marketing benefits of guest blogging:
- New industry connections.
- Get backlinks that are relevant to your industry and improve your SEO.
- Refers traffic from relevant audiences.
Guest blogging on sites related to your industry but not directly competing with you can help you find leads for your company.
You could guest blog if your company is offering great content that is valuable for the blog or company you are contributing with. Your services can be a complement to the marketing efforts of sign makers, and you are always allowed for it as you get some direct advertisement from the posts you provide.
Your site will rank higher in the locality if you write a guest blog or get backlinks from a podcaster.
To get the best results, ensure that your industry and geographic location are relevant to the site you are guest blogging on.
Rank in Search Engines
Make sure your target audience can find you online when they search for your services.
You can generate more leads for your business by using Search Engine Optimization and SEM to build your website.
SEO tends to be associated with keywords only, but it is much more. However, we want to keep this basic so let’s start with it and tell you that to determine the keywords your target audience searches for before hiring your service, you should first do keyword research.
To find search data, you can use SEMrush and Google Ads Keyword Planning tools.
After you have identified the keywords, optimize your page’s content. Ranking organically for a high-competitive product or service might prove difficult. If you are willing to invest, an SEO agency could be a great way of generating consistent leads.
You should also make sure you are friends with Google.
Google entities like a Google My Business profile, using platforms to connect your information or anything that is Google-owned, are valuable for your website and ensure you get found easily.
Just make an effort to learn about Google, how they connect everything, and ensure your business is out there over your competitors.
Be Resourceful by Answering Forum Questions
Forum questions are a great way for you to demonstrate your subject knowledge and set the stage for reciprocity. This strategy can lead to leads in minutes if done strategically.
To use the Principle of Reciprocity, you must be the first one to give. This quote is from Influence at Work and explains how being the first person to give can receive something of equal or higher value.
This principle of persuasion can be put to use by answering questions on forums such as Reddit and Quora. Start answering questions about your business by choosing a relevant category.
Make sure you include a call to action at the end of your answer to solve the user’s problem.
Leave a helpful answer to a question about how a truck rental company helps or any query related.
Then, link to your website and suggest that the user contact you for a service or more questions.
The user asking the question can get information from you and consider your business for truck renting later.
Forum questions are a great way to generate business leads and can also be great for SEO. Reddit’s example shows that if you get upvoted for your answer, you will get lots more attention for your business.
Offer A Free Tool or Lead Generation Magnet
A great way to get business-to-business sales leads is to offer a free tool. Is there a problem your service solves? Is it possible to offer a free service that solves the problem of users but does not require them to purchase from you?
There is a lot to offer for free if you are smart about what can be valuable for your prospects.
Creating items or lead magnets like an eBook that outlines the price ranges and what you do with your business can be useful. Information related to how you can use the truck can be a good idea as well.
In addition, you want to have a blog of your own.
Your blog posts can begin to earn contact information if it has the right topic, targeting, and call-to-action. Higher conversion rates will be achieved if your blog topic, CTA, and offer are aligned more closely.
These are the average visit-to-lead conversion rates based on blog lead data from Databox.
Get Involved in Networking
Although networking does not usually lead to direct revenue, it is a great way to foster professional relationships.
For this to work, you should choose a local event that is relevant to your industry. This will allow you to keep your travel expenses low and maximize the opportunities for business wins.
What are the benefits of networking? You’ll almost always be disappointed if you approach networking with ROI in your mind. Instead, look for oblique wins.
You might meet someone who is complementary to your business, and you could partner with them to share leads. This will increase your reach.
You might meet an influencer who is willing to interview you or someone who already owns a blog that can share some awareness if you give great content.
Your networking investment will almost always yield multiple returns, making it one of the most effective ways to generate leads for your company.
Remember, it is all about making contacts regardless of the industry, so make sure you meet new people even if it isn’t in an event.
Make Use of the Internet However You Can
It is easy and important to show off your expertise in the digital age, so you want to ensure you are using all the resources given.
To reach potential clients who might need your expertise in specific industries besides your main niche, which is truck rental in this case, and from it, you should start building a web presence.
As mentioned earlier, targeting content optimization for search engines is one way to gain views and increase your site’s ranking.
Adding to what we mentioned about SEO earlier, remember it is important to keep your website updated with relevant and useful content in order to generate leads via the internet quickly, and you don’t need to push yourself too hard if you aren’t getting too close to how this is done.
Make sure your presence is consistent, offers value, and is always updated.
With more internet channels and options, you can use directories to add your company’s name and contact info and make sure your local market finds and knows you.
Don’t Give Up
Sales leads are a source of success for companies that recognize this. Asking for referrals, making customer service calls, and nurturing leads are ways to generate sales-qualified leads efficiently.
Also, keep in mind that with time, you will need to work with a sales team and not by yourself to be able to handle all the lead generation strategies you are implementing for your company and ensure that every lead is there for you and not missed.
Perseverance is the most important lesson to be learned in lead generation strategies. Few customers will be mad if they make the first contact. Understanding and practicing lead nurturing is an important part of understanding how to generate leads.
You’ll be able to achieve greater sales accuracy and skill by expanding your existing strategies for generating leads and attending those leads throughout the sales process.
The Local Lead Generation Process for Your Truck Rental Business
All right! So, everything is about building properties and generating leads. But how does the process actually take place? Are there other steps I need to know?
The steps I mention below are what students from our local lead generation program follow to generate leads for businesses like yourself. So I’ll help you see what we do. And how if you join our program, you can simply generate leads for your own business (unless you want to start a side hustle and build a laptop lifestyle business).
Essentially, our lead generation can be divided into four steps:
The first is prospecting. You need to take the time to do market research on a niche (industry) and determine how many phone-driven businesses are there.
Keep in mind that this is local research as you need to know how many companies need leads. For example, you may search for “plumbing services Youngstown OH.”
You will find dozens or even hundreds of businesses trying to get themselves in front of the customers by ranking on Map Listings, organic results, and even Ad.
The second step, building. When you find a niche (plumbing, tree services, a software company, real estate…), you will need to start building your digital properties. You don’t need to be an expert in HTML or coding. It can be easy with the right tools.
The third step is now taking time to rank your lead gen website. With the site done, you need to work on SEO strategies and start dominating those Google search results. If you’re new to SEO, it stands for Search Engine Optimization.
To keep it simple, it consists of the entire process of growing a company’s visibility on search engines like Google and generating organic traffic. And remember this, local lead generation is part of the strategies.
Moving on to step four, once you rank the site, you will start getting your ROI and profits. You only need to rent it out to a local business interested in the leads the site generates. You can offer a couple of free leads to their move on with the actual pay per lead.
To review steps 1-4 above, I described it to a normal student who is building a lead gen business to help local service providers generate more calls. But replace the student with you as the business owner. And replace sending the leads to a business to simply siphoning the leads to your personal business.
By the way, fun fact, about 20% of our students in our local lead gen program are actually business owners who went through the program. And they use the skillsets we teach to generate leads for their own business.
An Example of Lead Generation: Home Advisor
You must be thinking, “if lead generation sounds so good so far, how come I haven’t seen any company?” That’s the thing; there are many out there. You just don’t know they are dedicated to it.
HomeAdvisor is one of the best examples you can find on the Internet as it is a top lead generation company that has spent millions building its brand but also earned even more zeros for this same reason.
They started small as everyone else but invested in building their brand awareness to make people who are looking for home services go to their website and find what they need. They are over 75% of people’s first choice when they need those services.
If you don’t get HomeAdvisor that much or need a refresh, users need to submit their information to request a service and get a professional or expert who can provide it.
HomeAdvisor’s job is to share your information, which makes you a lead, with local companies so they can contact you and offer the service you’re requesting. For sharing this lead information, HomeAdvisor gets paid by the companies. This happens for every single lead they send to multiple businesses.
Business owners who don’t have marketing skills or don’t even know how to have any online presence will always rely on those pages to list their services. They will save time and effort, but companies like HomeAdvisor can make them spend lots of money as leads aren’t exclusive (one lead is sent to multiple companies after all).
Using Facebook Ads aka Paid Ad Platforms: Do They Generate Leads?
They DO generate leads. If not, no one would use them.
However, you need to remember two facts:
- Paid ads or platforms can be expensive.
- They don’t generate “natural” leads.
Whenever someone sees or clicks in one of those ads, over 80% of them did it by accident or are trying to close/report it.
Why? Because they aren’t looking for those services. At least not at the moment.
What those ads do instead is interrupt their time on the platforms. Users aren’t there to find companies or businesses unless they are searching for a specific company’s user, and for that, there’s a search bar. This is why it is hard to convert them to actual customers who will show interest in the companies’ services. Also, you’re limited by a budget.
When using lead generation, everything is organic. You aren’t forcing others to pay attention to your business but rather being there when they need you. This is why Google’s organic traffic will always beat paid ads, and the reason companies continue investing in it, which is a lot cheaper as well.
What Is Local SEO?
Don’t worry… I didn’t get it at first either. Following the short explanation, local SEO focuses on scaling businesses’ visibility on search engines. However, this is only for those who serve their communities face-to-face.
What does this mean?
Experts and professionals like painters, plumbers, and dentists (but not only them) offer their services to their local customers. Why? Because they can’t deliver them unless they are located in the same area of their customers.
To make sure those businesses get more leads, you need to rank them locally by claiming the business listing on Google to place them on Map Listings. Local SEO also involves online reviews, citation management, and how you manage your entire online presence in the local area.
If you are going to bet on lead gen, you need to adapt yourself to today’s world: The Internet.
Keep in mind that although traditional channels and methods like billboards, warm calls, and pamphlets still work, they aren’t part of your tools. Whenever someone needs a service, they go to Google and search for it.
“Dentist in Miami” or “plumbing services in Orlando,” etc. And you can keep coming up with services or professionals people need and look for. Thus, you need to make sure you’re using Google to get the companies in front of their clients.
Users will always click on the first search results (those near the top), and many of them will be either Ad links (people paid to place their websites there), Map Listing, and then you get websites. Almost all of them are your goal and where you should always aim to place yourself.
Can My Truck Rental Business Utilize a Local Lead Generation Strategy?
If you want customers, you better know you need it. Following the previous explanation, lead gen is all about placing businesses in front of their customers, choosing them over their competitors.
Put it simply – it’s all about closing deals and having clients for those companies to make money. The main difference with the usual methods companies use for this is how lead generation approaches different channels to get them in the right place of the market to get customers.
Those channels are all focused on the Internet as most people are searching for products but also services across the net. The issue is that the Internet is way too broad, and businesses don’t know how to place themselves. They usually try, but they get one common result: losing money and time.
How Powerful Are Organic Truck Rental Leads from Google?
For companies looking for customers, it’s everything. For you? Pretty much the same. When you build a business with digital properties, you get to make thousands of dollars a month.
This isn’t a “get started today and get rich tomorrow” thing, but it is HIGHLY scalable, and ROI + positive results are guaranteed. Learning a fairly decent and very needed set of skills to create your digital properties and start ranking them on Google is required.
I have invested in several online businesses over the years, and if there’s something uncertain, whether you will get your ROI or not, even more than the actual profit.
However, this business moved my earnings from five figures a year to a month in ONLY passive income while sitting comfortably at home.
On my laptop. Anywhere. Anytime.
You can look at one of the first sites I built back in 2016, and it continues making me over $1.000+ every month. The best part is that I don’t need to touch it or the rest I’ve built over the years, just like this digital property.
What Makes Lead Generation SO Alluring?
Here it goes: you can work from home.
The main issue with regular business opportunities is how much you need to invest in staff, equipment, or rent to have a place to sell your products or offer your services.
We all know the hassles of traditional businesses that involve regular expenses, which are extremely high. Can you afford it? I don’t think so, and even if you can, is it worth it? Now, it isn’t only about the money. You also need to put in a lot of work, and it isn’t only during the first couple of months or years. Usually, it is as long as you continue running it.
You can save yourself those headaches and bone-breaking tasks and expenses with lead gen since it is more about generating leads with digital channels—mainly websites.
Websites can be VERY cheap to build, and with many tools online, you get to do it in a couple of hours instead of days. Any virtual or digital business is scalable and won’t need constant maintenance.
So, let’s summarize this:
- You save money in regular expenses with traditional and most online businesses as what you need is yourself and digital properties (websites).
- You can bet on passive income.
- There’s no need to hire more people to get started.
- You can generate leads in multiple industries, which allows you to work on any niche you want.
