Foundation installation leads can look like a luxury for your business. However, you only need the right lead generation strategies to achieve the desired results. These include SEO, paid advertising, social media, having your own website, and a bunch more.
Most of your competitors are probably reaching out to well-trained and professional marketers. You could do the same, but investing some time in learning about the right strategies can initially save you money.
If you are a foundation installation company struggling with cash, you can also rely on your own time and knowledge. With lead generation strategies that are free, you can work towards increasing your leads with them until you’re able to hire someone or work with the paid options.
Overall, a well-developed and designer lead generation process involves both paid and free strategies. Thus, you don’t have to feel like you’re missing something. Organic strategies can end up being more useful.
Which ones are free, and what are the paid options? We will be reviewing the top ones from both sides for you to integrate them into your plan.
Conversion Goals Should Be Clear
Clearness is more important than simplicity when it comes down to generating leads. If you’re not smart enough to understand how to influence your website in your favor, this will clearly reflect on it without you even noticing it.
A web designer should be able to explain the many ways that a professional can simplify and make things more clear when coming up with the aesthetics and positions of the elements of the website.
You can also research online for inspiration and examples to help you set a clear conversion goal. Then, move on to simplicity.
What tools are available to help make your website more clear? What can you do to make sure visitors are clear about the fields they must fill out when it comes to the conversion part?
If you cannot understand the “conversion goal clearness,” it is all about making sure visitors understand where they can contact you or be converted even when the latter isn’t exactly their goal.
Basically, you need to make the bars and elements clear so they can be converted easily when deciding to hire your services or buy some products.
Although many tools that are added to the website with the bars and designs are available in stores and depending on what site you decided to use to build it, some elements as simple as an asterisk can be used.
This element is a clarity tool that indicates that a field must be completed and that it is mandatory to do so when someone decides to fill out the entire form/field you have placed on your landing page or other pages of the site.
Some words or examples in the form can be added to help them know what they need to write, and these are the usual “help prompts” you must be familiar with.
These prompts disappear once the user begins typing. This is a great way for people to know how to fill out forms or enter their phone numbers without making mistakes or getting frustrated with any errors.
Next, if you have any sales information on the same page you have the forms or other elements, you need to choose specific colors for each one so the visitors can easily distinguish them.
This allows visitors to know where to focus their attention in order for the relevant info or to take certain actions and have some results.
Also, this will make the item more attractive to their eyes and make them feel less overwhelmed.
Your website does not have to be a masterpiece of art to attract leads. It is a matter of making it good-looking yet simple.
To help you have a general idea of what you need and should focus on, these are the essential elements of a website:
- Use attractive images and photos to show off your previous projects and services.
- Connect with all social media accounts so people can find you easily, and you can share content from the platforms.
- Let people contact you to book your services.
- Text that answers customer questions.
- Add calls to action (CTAs).
People Love Search Engines, Especially Your Leads
Search engines are what everyone uses to research and look for anything today. Services, answers, learn about people, and anything you think about.
Thus, any business needs to appear in them and ensure the website and result appear on the first page.
To do so, this has to do with good SEO (search engine optimization) and other methods to optimize your site and digital presence and make your online lead generation strategies work in the future.
Thanks to the search engine results, if you build a great presence and focus on optimizing your site, foundation installation leads can be generated from the people who visit the website.
SEO will be the organic or free part of doing this, but other alternatives are available as well:
- Google Ads.
Google Ads is a list of websites and ads that appear at the top when users search for a particular service or product or any information based on the words they are writing on the search bar.
If you use the common keywords related to your foundation business, you can reach the top ads and appear in the results.
These ads have the advantage of being displayed on other Google search sites and search partners.
Google Ads can be set up to achieve certain goals, such as more foot traffic, more calls, or website traffic.
For this to work, you need to create the message and budget to advertise. You can cancel your campaign at any time if it isn’t performing well and go over the keyword research once again, which applies to any search engine ad campaign.
- Bing Ads.
Bing Ads work the same way as Google ads but in a different location.
Setting up your campaign is easy and follows the same logic as bidding keywords and other similar standards.
Google Ads and Bing offer analytics on the performance of your ad and who responded to it. This allows you to make adjustments if necessary in order to reach more qualified leads.
- Google Maps.
We will not believe you if you claim that you haven’t searched for any service or company near you, even a single time.
There has been an increase in searches using “near me” for services. This makes Google Maps a great way to capture local customers and deals.
It is clear that your services are local. This means that you want to provide them to those around you. Therefore, it makes sense for others to find you based on your location.
Google Maps advertising will help you rank higher than your competition in local search engine results. Your Google My Business listing is free and should be used in conjunction with this lead generation strategy to make things work and rely on other digital marketing strategies.
- Organic Search.
The goal of organic search is to generate those leads using the SEO techniques we all know and briefly mentioned above.
Keywords, content optimization, and videos, as well as photos and other parameters, must be taken into consideration so that people can find you based upon what you have to offer and the terms they use in the search bar.
It can be hard work and time-consuming to generate organic traffic, but it is worth it.
You are certain to get visitors and qualified leads. They are interested in your services because they landed on your site thanks to your efforts and the specific tools and keywords you’re using.
Utilize Social Media Marketing for Your Business
You must use every tool you have, and social media is one of the most powerful and free ones available, so why would you neglect it because it feels a bit saturated?
Well, it isn’t. This means you can take advantage of the opportunities it offers you.
A company that doesn’t use social media right now is making a big mistake, regardless of its niche or industry.
You will notice that social media advertising is a popular way for companies to reach people. Leads are always searching for information and are looking for it all. You need to be there and make sure you are where they are spending their time.
Besides, social media allows you to be as precise as possible when advertising and charging for them.
If you do this correctly, you can segment leads based on their interests. While some potential clients may need you immediately, there are others with whom to build a relationship that will allow them to remember you later, and your profiles and information will be useful.
It is important to know your ideal client and their interests for this to work. Knowing who your ideal client is will help you choose the right social media platform as well.
You don’t need to be on every platform if your potential customer isn’t there. It is important to focus your efforts on areas that will give you the best return on your energy, time, and money.
This is a great way to get leads, but be aware of the potential for influxes. You will need to conduct testing in order to determine your target audience and ensure your ads and additional efforts are well-designed.
Going Back to Website: Make It a High-Conversion Place
Do you remember what we said earlier about the need for one? We’ll get into this thought a little deeper.
It is essential to have a website. All your leads will be there, regardless of how you use search engines or social media or the specific channels of your choice.
The most common mistake with companies in local niches like yours is that they believe Facebook pages are enough since they can also take advantage of Facebook Marketplace. However, this is a huge mistake.
Facebook and other social media platforms are not very long-lasting. You should consider this: if one of these platforms closes down tomorrow, your leads list will also go away, and all your efforts will be wasted.
We don’t even have to go that far with this after Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp were down in October of this year (2021) for over 5 hours. Imagine if that was forever.
A functional, attractive website that provides the most important information is the best option. It’s also where people can land easily and quickly without spending as much money as you believe.
What about high conversion? It all comes down to how your site is designed and how visitors can get in touch with and interact with you, as we mentioned in your clear conversion goal.
They should be able to click on the call-to-action, such as filling out a contact form or signing up for an electronic mailing list.
You may have to offer something in order to obtain contact information.
Because they fear receiving spam, people are becoming more cautious about signing up for email mailing lists. In exchange for email addresses, you can send out newsletters with tips and updates.
This part also includes SEO and what we have mentioned so far.
Focusing on Google My Business
Let’s dive a bit deeper into this since we know it can be confusing.
We mentioned Google My Business a few strategies ago, and we know what you’re thinking, “AGAIN?!!”
But there is where you are wrong again: we should ensure that the Google My Business information is accurate, so you are able to work with this perfectly.
To make it simple and start from zero, it is a listing that lets you provide all the information about your company so that users searching for similar companies will see it in their Google Maps.
If your address is not in a retail area, you don’t have to publish it, so don’t worry about this field when you’re filling in the information.
You can set your service area to include larger cities even if you live in a small town. This will ensure that your business listing appears in more search results.
However, the most important thing about this listing option is that you have the correct information, such as the company name, number, email address, and location, if any.
It is important to make sure people can contact you with it easily. Otherwise, you may lose potential concrete leads.
This listing is crucial since Google cares for sites and people who have more presence on the search engine, and you’re giving them more proof of how you can contribute to users with your foundation installation services.
Another Look at SEO & PPC
SEO and PPC (pay per click) are two topics people know too little about, and we are sure we didn’t give out much info in the previous mention.
We will therefore take our time and create well-written content.
Both SEO and PPC generate traffic. The first requires a time investment, while the second requires a financial one.
You can choose to use one or both, depending on how urgent your lead requirements are. Both are better as your efforts will pay off faster and more efficiently.
However, let’s have a look at SEO first and how it helps in specific:
- Search engine optimization strategies can be used to build trust and credibility.
- Research shows that organic results are more popular than paid ads. This is because people feel secure about the ranking of your website or link. Therefore, you should find ways to increase your visibility without spending money advertising.
- This method is free unless you hire someone to do your SEO.
- Although it doesn’t have to be costly, it will take time.
- Your credibility and visibility will increase if you have quality content.
- A successful strategy will improve your search ranking, which will lead to more traffic and brand recognition.
What about PPC?
Pay-per-click lets you use ads to charge per click for the URL you direct people to. These ads are the Google Ads we mentioned earlier since you pay for them every time someone clicks on the ad, not in another way.
This strategy is faster than SEO, allows you to target your audience and convert more leads, but it doesn’t mean it makes SEO useless.
Using Email Marketing (And It Works!)
Yes, we know the rumor about this, “Email marketing is dead,” but we don’t agree with it, and instead, we’re happy to tell you that’s a big lie.
Although social media and smartphones are dominating communication, email is still the best way to communicate with clients and businesses and set up projects.
This means that you can send confidential and critical information using email, not other platforms or social media, and we know no one who does this (and if you do, stop now).
Email marketing is a great way to attract and nurture leads while also affordable, especially for foundation installation businesses. More than being a good addition to a marketing plan, it is a must.
Your website is the best place to maximize this process and get the results you want since you usually build your email list with the people who sign in.
Your website visitors are more likely to be interested than ever in your services and business. It is a great way for you to determine which leads are of high quality and which are passing by.
To encourage people to sign up for your email service, you can add a signup button to your website. This will make it easy for them to complete the process.
And before you even ask, email lists are not something you should buy.
These lists will not give you any valuable leads, and your emails could end up in spam folders. This could spell doom for your entire future. You will either have to start again or lose sales-qualified leads.
After you’ve established an organic email list, thanks to people who sign up on your site or direct contacts you inquired about joining, you can start sending them the information they need.
Emails may contain coupon codes, content links, or information about new products and services. It is important to ensure that they are valuable and worth it for your potential clients or frequent ones.
Automate Your Tasks as Much as You Can
Automation is a necessity for businesses and marketing efforts since many tasks and responsibilities come with them.
It saves time and allows you to control the results and statistics of both your company and plans.
Foundation installation companies have a lot to gain from automated lead generation software since it activates an automatic process whenever potential customers contact you.
This includes signing up for your newsletter or asking for quotes. This software also allows you to nurture leads with targeted marketing resources.
Automated lead generation is a top choice for generating future clients because it is more efficient and highly effective than traditional marketing methods.
Here are some automation options to help you get a better idea of what tools you could use:
- Email automation.
You can keep in touch with potential customers via email marketing automation. This helps you keep them interested and more likely to hire or buy from you. This reduces the likelihood of your competitor selling before your first contact with potential clients.
It takes time to write and send multiple emails, which is why this task becomes more difficult when each email must be personalized for each prospect and how you want people to feel special.
Automated email marketing software will allow you to spend more time on your business and generate foundation installation leads while the software handles most of the process.
Here are some of the tools available to help with this aspect:
An automated email marketing campaign can be used to inform, engage, and drive potential customers down the sales funnel, so don’t ignore this tool in particular.
- Facebook automated marketing.
Facebook is a social media phenomenon that has become a must for every company regardless of the niche and when choosing platforms. It also happens to be one of the most effective methods for marketing your business.
It gives marketers a wealth of information, including their location, gender, and interests, which is why automation is big for this when you include it in your marketing plan.
Facebook automation is a great way to increase brand awareness, output and save time while also saving money.
It is important to remember that Facebook marketing must be informative and engaging. Customers can easily become disoriented by ads that are too intrusive or out of place on their timelines.
Automated marketing’s first steps, such as creating buyer personas, will help you better understand your audience.
- LinkedIn automated marketing.
LinkedIn is a social network platform that professionals of all industries can use and businesses alone as well.
Automated marketing software can be used to generate leads and is a great way for you to tap into this large audience. You can create targeted lead generation ads with LinkedIn activity, profile information, and interactions.
LinkedIn automation could be used to extract data from contacts and then export it to a CRM to boost your conversions.
Create a Referral System
A third party’s endorsement or referral (which is the right word) can be stronger than a hundred posts and presentations where you talk about yourself.
Selling or offering is about getting customers to recommend and encourage others to buy your products or services.
You can use hundreds of referral options to grow your network, get prospects to return your calls, and reach out to difficult-to-reach buyers.
Referral systems make it easier to be a professional and can result in increased profits and customer loyalty. They encourage clients who are familiar with your services and old ones to recommend you.
Just include a handsome benefit for referrals, and you will have leads pouring in.
Keep it simple, and you’ll get results
Although it may not be a direct method or strategy to generate more leads, it will certainly help you to get rid of the common belief that lead scoring and generation can be difficult because there is so much to do.
In reality, this is because people make it complicated.
We recommend that you return to simplicity when designing landing pages and profiles on social media platforms.
We are focusing on landing pages for this occasion because they tend to be more informative than other pages on anyone’s website. They ensure that the visitor’s attention stays on you.
So, remember this: People are more likely to run away from information overload.
This is why “less is more” is so true.
Your landing page conversion rates won’t be as high as other options. However, if the fields are kept between 3 and 5, you will have more than 10% higher than if you have more.
How can you simplify landing pages or the entire website? Ask only what is necessary and give direct information. Don’t give too much at once.
Make sure your contact forms and questions are simple. This will encourage visitors to fill them in and give you what you need. Then, make them take the actions you want.
The Local Lead Generation Process for Your Foundation Installation Business
All right! So, everything is about building properties and generating leads. But how does the process actually take place? Are there other steps I need to know?
The steps I mention below are what students from our local lead generation program follow to generate leads for businesses like yourself. So I’ll help you see what we do. And how if you join our program, you can simply generate leads for your own business (unless you want to start a side hustle and build a laptop lifestyle business).
Essentially, our lead generation can be divided into four steps:
The first is prospecting. You need to take the time to do market research on a niche (industry) and determine how many phone-driven businesses are there.
Keep in mind that this is local research as you need to know how many companies need leads. For example, you may search for “plumbing services Youngstown OH.”
You will find dozens or even hundreds of businesses trying to get themselves in front of the customers by ranking on Map Listings, organic results, and even Ad.
The second step, building. When you find a niche (plumbing, tree services, a software company, real estate…), you will need to start building your digital properties. You don’t need to be an expert in HTML or coding. It can be easy with the right tools.
The third step is now taking time to rank your lead gen website. With the site done, you need to work on SEO strategies and start dominating those Google search results. If you’re new to SEO, it stands for Search Engine Optimization.
To keep it simple, it consists of the entire process of growing a company’s visibility on search engines like Google and generating organic traffic. And remember this, local lead generation is part of the strategies.
Moving on to step four, once you rank the site, you will start getting your ROI and profits. You only need to rent it out to a local business interested in the leads the site generates. You can offer a couple of free leads to their move on with the actual pay per lead.
To review steps 1-4 above, I described it to a normal student who is building a lead gen business to help local service providers generate more calls. But replace the student with you as the business owner. And replace sending the leads to a business to simply siphoning the leads to your personal business.
By the way, fun fact, about 20% of our students in our local lead gen program are actually business owners who went through the program. And they use the skillsets we teach to generate leads for their own business.
An Example of Lead Generation: Home Advisor
You must be thinking, “if lead generation sounds so good so far, how come I haven’t seen any company?” That’s the thing; there are many out there. You just don’t know they are dedicated to it.
HomeAdvisor is one of the best examples you can find on the Internet as it is a top lead generation company that has spent millions building its brand but also earned even more zeros for this same reason.
They started small as everyone else but invested in building their brand awareness to make people who are looking for home services go to their website and find what they need. They are over 75% of people’s first choice when they need those services.
If you don’t get HomeAdvisor that much or need a refresh, users need to submit their information to request a service and get a professional or expert who can provide it.
HomeAdvisor’s job is to share your information, which makes you a lead, with local companies so they can contact you and offer the service you’re requesting. For sharing this lead information, HomeAdvisor gets paid by the companies. This happens for every single lead they send to multiple businesses.
Business owners who don’t have marketing skills or don’t even know how to have any online presence will always rely on those pages to list their services. They will save time and effort, but companies like HomeAdvisor can make them spend lots of money as leads aren’t exclusive (one lead is sent to multiple companies after all).
Using Facebook Ads aka Paid Ad Platforms: Do They Generate Leads?
They DO generate leads. If not, no one would use them.
However, you need to remember two facts:
- Paid ads or platforms can be expensive.
- They don’t generate “natural” leads.
Whenever someone sees or clicks in one of those ads, over 80% of them did it by accident or are trying to close/report it.
Why? Because they aren’t looking for those services. At least not at the moment.
What those ads do instead is interrupt their time on the platforms. Users aren’t there to find companies or businesses unless they are searching for a specific company’s user, and for that, there’s a search bar. This is why it is hard to convert them to actual customers who will show interest in the companies’ services. Also, you’re limited by a budget.
When using lead generation, everything is organic. You aren’t forcing others to pay attention to your business but rather being there when they need you. This is why Google’s organic traffic will always beat paid ads, and the reason companies continue investing in it, which is a lot cheaper as well.
What Is Local SEO?
Don’t worry… I didn’t get it at first either. Following the short explanation, local SEO focuses on scaling businesses’ visibility on search engines. However, this is only for those who serve their communities face-to-face.
What does this mean?
Experts and professionals like painters, plumbers, and dentists (but not only them) offer their services to their local customers. Why? Because they can’t deliver them unless they are located in the same area of their customers.
To make sure those businesses get more leads, you need to rank them locally by claiming the business listing on Google to place them on Map Listings. Local SEO also involves online reviews, citation management, and how you manage your entire online presence in the local area.
If you are going to bet on lead gen, you need to adapt yourself to today’s world: The Internet.
Keep in mind that although traditional channels and methods like billboards, warm calls, and pamphlets still work, they aren’t part of your tools. Whenever someone needs a service, they go to Google and search for it.
“Dentist in Miami” or “plumbing services in Orlando,” etc. And you can keep coming up with services or professionals people need and look for. Thus, you need to make sure you’re using Google to get the companies in front of their clients.
Users will always click on the first search results (those near the top), and many of them will be either Ad links (people paid to place their websites there), Map Listing, and then you get websites. Almost all of them are your goal and where you should always aim to place yourself.
Can My Foundation Installation Business Utilize a Local Lead Generation Strategy?
If you want customers, you better know you need it. Following the previous explanation, lead gen is all about placing businesses in front of their customers, choosing them over their competitors.
Put it simply – it’s all about closing deals and having clients for those companies to make money. The main difference with the usual methods companies use for this is how lead generation approaches different channels to get them in the right place of the market to get customers.
Those channels are all focused on the Internet as most people are searching for products but also services across the net. The issue is that the Internet is way too broad, and businesses don’t know how to place themselves. They usually try, but they get one common result: losing money and time.
How Powerful Are Organic Foundation Installation Leads from Google?
For companies looking for customers, it’s everything. For you? Pretty much the same. When you build a business with digital properties, you get to make thousands of dollars a month.
This isn’t a “get started today and get rich tomorrow” thing, but it is HIGHLY scalable, and ROI + positive results are guaranteed. Learning a fairly decent and very needed set of skills to create your digital properties and start ranking them on Google is required.
I have invested in several online businesses over the years, and if there’s something uncertain, whether you will get your ROI or not, even more than the actual profit.
However, this business moved my earnings from five figures a year to a month in ONLY passive income while sitting comfortably at home.
On my laptop. Anywhere. Anytime.
You can look at one of the first sites I built back in 2016, and it continues making me over $1.000+ every month. The best part is that I don’t need to touch it or the rest I’ve built over the years, just like this digital property.
What Makes Lead Generation SO Alluring?
Here it goes: you can work from home.
The main issue with regular business opportunities is how much you need to invest in staff, equipment, or rent to have a place to sell your products or offer your services.
We all know the hassles of traditional businesses that involve regular expenses, which are extremely high. Can you afford it? I don’t think so, and even if you can, is it worth it? Now, it isn’t only about the money. You also need to put in a lot of work, and it isn’t only during the first couple of months or years. Usually, it is as long as you continue running it.
You can save yourself those headaches and bone-breaking tasks and expenses with lead gen since it is more about generating leads with digital channels—mainly websites.
Websites can be VERY cheap to build, and with many tools online, you get to do it in a couple of hours instead of days. Any virtual or digital business is scalable and won’t need constant maintenance.
So, let’s summarize this:
- You save money in regular expenses with traditional and most online businesses as what you need is yourself and digital properties (websites).
- You can bet on passive income.
- There’s no need to hire more people to get started.
- You can generate leads in multiple industries, which allows you to work on any niche you want.
How Can I Get Started in the Local Lead Generation Program?
