If you are a kitchen remodeler, then it is important that you have kitchen remodeling leads coming in on a regular basis. However, it is easier said than done considering all the competitors in your area and how many people look like potential clients but end up being part of the large percentage that ask but don’t hire your services like, ever.
Now, is this your fault, or that generating quality leads is even more challenging than you think? A mix of both, but it is all about knowing how to play with all available tools if you ask us.
Generating leads doesn’t have to be a nightmare as long as you’re using the right strategies and can properly handle the options you have available. Therefore, just focus on what to improve and where to start from now.
Don’t have a single clue of what to do? This blog post will provide tips and tricks to help increase the number of kitchen remodeling leads that come into your business every day.
Google Near Searches: Get Found on Them
There’s one thing we can’t deny: some methods are better than others when it comes to attracting remodeling leads for kitchens.
Therefore, you will face many alternatives and see which ones are more effective than others.
However, one method of advertising online that can drive kitchen remodeling leads faster and more continuously than others is definitely this one, which is all about attracting local customers by conducting proactive searches within a particular area.
Homeowners use search engines to find the right service, such as home remodeling. They may search for “kitchen remodeling near me” or add their city name. For example, “Kitchen remodeling contractor in Boston.”
Your business must appear under the map’s first three results on Google to ensure you get leads whenever someone searches for the services in a place you can cover and help them to deal with their kitchen projects.
You can do many things to make sure your site ranks at the top of search engine results pages; technical SEO is the standard key to success.
To make sure that Google indexes your content, it is important to optimize landing pages with keywords.
GMB (Google My Business) is a free tool for businesses and organizations to manage their online presence across Google’s proprietary platforms. Don’t know which platforms? Search and Maps are what you must be familiar with
It matches users with businesses that offer the service they are searching for in a specific geographic area near the search location.
A user might search “kitchen remodelers near me,” and the result listing would show three companies that are located near their current location thanks to the IP address that Google tracks.
Google displays the names, addresses, phone numbers, websites links, and reviews for the top three companies it considers a good match.
Geo-tagging is an important factor in determining whether a GMB listing will appear among the top-3 listed businesses. The more metadata Google has, the more relevant the company will be considered based on a customer’s search.
Google considers positive reviews to be one of the most important elements in its ranking algorithm, which is why you will need to pay extra attention to this.
They use this factor to ensure that you are in the top 3 results on mobile searches or for specific geographical searches.
This has two benefits: Google receives signals from local reviews, in which clients mention kitchen remodeling or any other related terms, that indicate that the company is suitable for the specific service they offer, and the Google algorithm also considers how many people click your listing compared to others.
People trust listings with more reviews because they are more trustworthy, and this isn’t something we’re making out right now. Instead, it has been a long-held belief.
This conversion metric can help you generate more kitchen remodeling leads and thus increase your chances of closing a sale.
With this in mind, it is a good habit to request a review in person after each completed project.
Also, remember to follow up with an automated email or text sequence.
Social Media and Facebook Ads Can Generate Interest
While Facebook ads can be a great way to generate high-quality leads that will help you grow your business, they can also prove to be a waste of time and energy if you’re not using them properly, which is what happens over 50% of the time.
Facebook’s advanced artificial intelligence capabilities can help you save money and get a great return on your investment in social media advertising. These features also allow you to target people most likely to act on online advertising.
A remodeling company can use Facebook ads to reach a targeted audience and generate leads.
This is crucial because, while you might be able to capture the low-hanging fruits of proactive searchers on Google, not many people will choose to spend money on a service like a bathroom or a kitchen remodeling, which is why you need to remember that they still need encouragement and advertising.
Advertising on Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook should be where most of your leads and calls come from and why social media is plural, not singular.
Facebook allows small businesses with limited budgets to compete with large corporations for leads. Because of all the personal data Facebook collects, it is easy to set up Facebook Business Ads to laser target whom your message will reach and how often.
Sharing content, such as videos testimonials or blogs, can help you attract clients’ attention. Then, boost those posts to people not following your page but who fit the criteria of your target market.
How do other social media like Instagram play the role? By complementing the channels you use to build your reputation and guaranteeing you’re able to work around the interest you’re creating.
Write Guest Blogs
Guest blogging is a great way of generating referral business via content marketing, and, at the same time, you will be improving your SEO.
Not many people notice the benefits of taking a few hours every week or a month and making sure they are collaborating with other blogs to share content and posts.
If you aren’t clear about the benefits you get, we can name a few:
- New industry connections.
- You can improve your SEO by acquiring relevant, industry-relevant backlinks.
- Get traffic from relevant audiences.
Guest blogging on sites related to your industry but not directly competing with you can help you find leads for your company.
You could guest blog for sign companies if you are a marketing company. Your services can be a complement to the marketing efforts of sign makers.
Being a kitchen remodeling company, you can use a bathroom remodeling business to boost your leads and help each other in the process.
As long as it is related to your industry but not your competitor, it will be useful to take the time to write those guest blogs.
Besides, local SEO best practices include guest blogging. Your site will rank higher in the local SEO market if you write a guest blog or get backlinks from a podcaster.
To get the best results, ensure that your industry and geographic location are relevant to the site you’re guest-blogging for.
Email Offers Are Key
Exposure to new audiences doesn’t necessarily mean lead generation. Your email list could have business potential that isn’t being used.
Consider putting together a special deal if you have an email list. You can turn passive customers into paying ones by offering a particular discount or a limited-time offer.
Other people can receive special emails from you. You can create a deal if you are actively networking with or partnering in your industry.
If you can’t picture it, let’s give you an example.
Let’s suppose you have an email list with 50 clients, and only 5 of them are currently active and requesting your kitchen remodeling services. What about the rest?
Many companies would consider them a loss in terms of clients they let go, but would you believe us if we tell you that those remain there and are still quality leads?
If you take the time, in this case, to write a good offer they receive in their emails, over 20% of them will turn into new leads. We can guarantee you this.
Remember that it isn’t about the offer only, but also about remembering them you’re here with your arms open for any projects.
More Advertising & Retargeting
Advertisement is not limited to social media. Targeted pay-per-click advertising via Google and Bing is a great way to reach search engine users.
This allows you to serve ads for search terms that you already know are relevant to your business.
Following the same example of the Google near searches, direct advertising in the search engine can help you to achieve the same result.
As a kitchen remodeling company, you can use those ads to have words like “kitchen remodeling,” “how to remodel your kitchen,” and keywords that are worth for your company to be your key to targeting new leads and bringing them to your business.
That being said, your website is not the first time that visitors convert. Display retargeting can be used to display visual ads for your services on popular websites when a user clicks your PPC ads.
While digital advertising is not an easy process to master, it can still be one of your most powerful ways to generate leads.
It is more difficult to get a new client than getting a referral from an existing customer.
This is why it is essential to invest more time nurturing leads and getting them involved in your service and not only consider them another person you will be paid for by providing your kitchen remodeling services.
Now, referral marketing is a great way to grow your business without spending hours on content creation and allows people to tell others about you, your products, or services. This saves you effort and money in the process as well.
Referral links can be set up with a fixed commission per new customer who is referred using the link.
Referring new customers is easier when you have existing customers who are already connected to your brand. Those customers will be more likely to promote you via your referral link due to the money or benefits involved.
Therefore, keep in mind that this referral program must be a win-win for both you and your client.
This method has the greatest advantage of killing multiple birds with one shot. After all, this method allows you to create a new pipeline of leads who are ready to buy from your company while also increasing brand awareness.
It strengthens your relationships with existing customers, thereby making them loyal ones.
Don’t Forget About Online Forums
Many people remodel their kitchens by following upgrades, like adding a new countertop, maybe new cabinets, and so on.
If you’re serious about starting a kitchen remodeling business or want to work hard in boosting the existing one and get more leads, Quora and local forums might be a good option to pay attention to.
These forums are great ways to meet new customers. You can make a list of questions that relate to your needs and introduce them so that potential customers can ask their questions without hesitation and by following what you have provided.
You will be able to generate more qualified leads this way than spending your time responding to every customer comment.
You can also post a message that encourages them to ask you about a project, service, or any aspect related to your business. Just make sure to set the topic to narrow the possibilities in terms of maintaining a theme in the forum.
Many remodeling companies use these types of posts to generate leads for their clients and themselves. People are often curious enough to find out more about a project before deciding who to hire.
If you put it up in the right location and time, you should have at least one candidate interested in joining your project, requesting the service, or something else.
Use Listing Sites
If you didn’t know, a Yelp page is present in the first five search queries results containing a city and business category.
You are always on the lookout for new customers as a kitchen remodeling company owner, and it can be difficult to convince them to visit your facility in person.
However, a way to solve this is by listing your website in local business directories.
Listing sites make it possible for websites like yours to be found by search engines. This can take you to potential leads as well as sign-ups on email lists.
These are the top websites for listing your kitchen remodeling company:
- Angie’s List.
- Home Advisor.
These directory sites get a lot of traffic, but many of your competitors use them, so make sure you do your research.
During your research, make sure to answer questions like the number of competitors, what sales they make, they can generate a high ROI or not, and more.
Start a Youtube Channel or Podcast
A podcast allows potential customers to get in touch with you and build a connection with your company. It feels more personal and less generic than the usual companies in the kitchen remodeling industry and many other fields.
A podcast can bridge the gap between a website’s appearance and the people behind it.
Producing a podcast is a better way to connect with everyone because it is different from talking and be listened to than writing a blog and waiting for people to read all of it (though the latter is still useful).
YouTube channels are no different. YouTube might be more beneficial to contractors and remodelers than any other industry. Unfortunately (and luckily for you as well), not many consider it because they feel there’s no point in creating such media.
However, if you let people know that you are knowledgeable, share your amazing work, and share all types of valuable content, it will be a great way to bring more leads and grow your business.
Although you won’t be seeing the results immediately, you can start and grow a podcast and YouTube channel to bring in more remodeling leads than ever before.
Optimize Your Conversion Rates
Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) is known as actively optimizing and improving your website’s content.
What for? To bring visitors, convert them into leads and then customers.
This is why CRO can often involve A/B testing to determine which version is more effective in driving conversions.
The conversion rate is the rate at which website visitors typically complete a specific action.
Marketers often run numerous tests in order to increase conversions and convert leads to customers.
CRO testing may involve major changes to graphics, blocks of copy, or focus on small details like headlines or words in call-to-action phrases.
You should regularly evaluate your pages to generate leads online, identify pages that have low conversion rates, and set up A/B and multivariate tests to identify any elements that may affect conversions.
Consider Hosting Webinars
Hosting an online webinar or event is a great idea if you are a subject matter expert or have lots of knowledge to share. Although they can be difficult to put together, webinars are a great way to find new leads and increase your website revenue.
A webinar is an online seminar that you can attend for free. Webinars are available on many topics and can last from 15 minutes to several hours.
While the ultimate goal is to generate leads for your company, it shouldn’t be all about you.
Your attendees should be able to benefit from your industry knowledge through these events. These attendees will see you as an industry leader and a resource for problem-solving services if you are a good presenter.
Make sure to have a Q&A session at the end of your webinar and give attendees contact information. It might be worth sending a follow-up “thank you” email to attendees after the webinar, and you can add a reminder, so they visit your website later.
An Outreach Program Is Needed
You will notice that sometimes, the best way to find leads online is to follow them down yourself.
For this, you should have an outreach plan or program in place if you find someone on the internet who might benefit from your product/service.
This does not mean you have to sign up every blogger that seems to be interested in your services and specific products.
You can use another technique or follow the basics. For example, suppose someone mentions on Twitter that they have trouble finding kitchen remodeling services in their local area. In that case, you might consider asking them if they have seen your online shop or sending them an email or direct message.
A personal touch is the best thing. These leads may be the most important and qualified you will meet, thanks to it.
Make an Offer Based on the Stage
You must make the right offer at every stage of your funnel if you want to increase leads. If they are still at the top of the funnel and only looking for general information, be as helpful as you can to answer their questions instead of bombarding them with services, products, and repeat.
Provide all details of differentiation to those who are at the middle of the funnel looking for a deeper understanding and comparisons of their options.
If they are at the bottom, that means they are making a final decision.
You can encourage them to finally take it with tools, calculators, comparison charts, case studies, and other content to help them make an informed decision.
Do These Tips Guarantee Your Success?
Yes and no.
If you follow them correctly and take your time to learn the crucial parts, we are 100% sure you will notice the results sooner than later.
However, if you just go over each method and get tired after not getting results in the first 2 hours, there’s no way you will succeed regardless of what you do.
Remember that generating leads, and quality ones at that, takes time. It can be faster depending on how smart you are with your strategies, but it doesn’t mean your business will grow in a matter of hours or even a few days.
Therefore, be patient, use all the tips we have included, and even more if they are precious. The more, the better (in this case).
The Local Lead Generation Process for Your Kitchen Remodeling Business
All right! So, everything is about building properties and generating leads. But how does the process actually take place? Are there other steps I need to know?
The steps I mention below are what students from our local lead generation program follow to generate leads for businesses like yourself. So I’ll help you see what we do. And how if you join our program, you can simply generate leads for your own business (unless you want to start a side hustle and build a laptop lifestyle business).
Essentially, our lead generation can be divided into four steps:
The first is prospecting. You need to take the time to do market research on a niche (industry) and determine how many phone-driven businesses are there.
Keep in mind that this is local research as you need to know how many companies need leads. For example, you may search for “plumbing services Youngstown OH.”
You will find dozens or even hundreds of businesses trying to get themselves in front of the customers by ranking on Map Listings, organic results, and even Ad.
The second step, building. When you find a niche (plumbing, tree services, a software company, real estate…), you will need to start building your digital properties. You don’t need to be an expert in HTML or coding. It can be easy with the right tools.
The third step is now taking time to rank your lead gen website. With the site done, you need to work on SEO strategies and start dominating those Google search results. If you’re new to SEO, it stands for Search Engine Optimization.
To keep it simple, it consists of the entire process of growing a company’s visibility on search engines like Google and generating organic traffic. And remember this, local lead generation is part of the strategies.
Moving on to step four, once you rank the site, you will start getting your ROI and profits. You only need to rent it out to a local business interested in the leads the site generates. You can offer a couple of free leads to their move on with the actual pay per lead.
To review steps 1-4 above, I described it to a normal student who is building a lead gen business to help local service providers generate more calls. But replace the student with you as the business owner. And replace sending the leads to a business to simply siphoning the leads to your personal business.
By the way, fun fact, about 20% of our students in our local lead gen program are actually business owners who went through the program. And they use the skillsets we teach to generate leads for their own business.
An Example of Lead Generation: Home Advisor
You must be thinking, “if lead generation sounds so good so far, how come I haven’t seen any company?” That’s the thing; there are many out there. You just don’t know they are dedicated to it.
HomeAdvisor is one of the best examples you can find on the Internet as it is a top lead generation company that has spent millions building its brand but also earned even more zeros for this same reason.
They started small as everyone else but invested in building their brand awareness to make people who are looking for home services go to their website and find what they need. They are over 75% of people’s first choice when they need those services.
If you don’t get HomeAdvisor that much or need a refresh, users need to submit their information to request a service and get a professional or expert who can provide it.
HomeAdvisor’s job is to share your information, which makes you a lead, with local companies so they can contact you and offer the service you’re requesting. For sharing this lead information, HomeAdvisor gets paid by the companies. This happens for every single lead they send to multiple businesses.
Business owners who don’t have marketing skills or don’t even know how to have any online presence will always rely on those pages to list their services. They will save time and effort, but companies like HomeAdvisor can make them spend lots of money as leads aren’t exclusive (one lead is sent to multiple companies after all).
Using Facebook Ads aka Paid Ad Platforms: Do They Generate Leads?
They DO generate leads. If not, no one would use them.
However, you need to remember two facts:
- Paid ads or platforms can be expensive.
- They don’t generate “natural” leads.
Whenever someone sees or clicks in one of those ads, over 80% of them did it by accident or are trying to close/report it.
Why? Because they aren’t looking for those services. At least not at the moment.
What those ads do instead is interrupt their time on the platforms. Users aren’t there to find companies or businesses unless they are searching for a specific company’s user, and for that, there’s a search bar. This is why it is hard to convert them to actual customers who will show interest in the companies’ services. Also, you’re limited by a budget.
When using lead generation, everything is organic. You aren’t forcing others to pay attention to your business but rather being there when they need you. This is why Google’s organic traffic will always beat paid ads, and the reason companies continue investing in it, which is a lot cheaper as well.
What Is Local SEO?
Don’t worry… I didn’t get it at first either. Following the short explanation, local SEO focuses on scaling businesses’ visibility on search engines. However, this is only for those who serve their communities face-to-face.
What does this mean?
Experts and professionals like painters, plumbers, and dentists (but not only them) offer their services to their local customers. Why? Because they can’t deliver them unless they are located in the same area of their customers.
To make sure those businesses get more leads, you need to rank them locally by claiming the business listing on Google to place them on Map Listings. Local SEO also involves online reviews, citation management, and how you manage your entire online presence in the local area.
If you are going to bet on lead gen, you need to adapt yourself to today’s world: The Internet.
Keep in mind that although traditional channels and methods like billboards, warm calls, and pamphlets still work, they aren’t part of your tools. Whenever someone needs a service, they go to Google and search for it.
“Dentist in Miami” or “plumbing services in Orlando,” etc. And you can keep coming up with services or professionals people need and look for. Thus, you need to make sure you’re using Google to get the companies in front of their clients.
Users will always click on the first search results (those near the top), and many of them will be either Ad links (people paid to place their websites there), Map Listing, and then you get websites. Almost all of them are your goal and where you should always aim to place yourself.
Can My Kitchen Remodeling Business Utilize a Local Lead Generation Strategy?
If you want customers, you better know you need it. Following the previous explanation, lead gen is all about placing businesses in front of their customers, choosing them over their competitors.
Put it simply – it’s all about closing deals and having clients for those companies to make money. The main difference with the usual methods companies use for this is how lead generation approaches different channels to get them in the right place of the market to get customers.
Those channels are all focused on the Internet as most people are searching for products but also services across the net. The issue is that the Internet is way too broad, and businesses don’t know how to place themselves. They usually try, but they get one common result: losing money and time.
How Powerful Are Organic Kitchen Remodeling Leads from Google?
For companies looking for customers, it’s everything. For you? Pretty much the same. When you build a business with digital properties, you get to make thousands of dollars a month.
This isn’t a “get started today and get rich tomorrow” thing, but it is HIGHLY scalable, and ROI + positive results are guaranteed. Learning a fairly decent and very needed set of skills to create your digital properties and start ranking them on Google is required.
I have invested in several online businesses over the years, and if there’s something uncertain, whether you will get your ROI or not, even more than the actual profit.
However, this business moved my earnings from five figures a year to a month in ONLY passive income while sitting comfortably at home.
On my laptop. Anywhere. Anytime.
You can look at one of the first sites I built back in 2016, and it continues making me over $1.000+ every month. The best part is that I don’t need to touch it or the rest I’ve built over the years, just like this digital property.
What Makes Lead Generation SO Alluring?
Here it goes: you can work from home.
The main issue with regular business opportunities is how much you need to invest in staff, equipment, or rent to have a place to sell your products or offer your services.
We all know the hassles of traditional businesses that involve regular expenses, which are extremely high. Can you afford it? I don’t think so, and even if you can, is it worth it? Now, it isn’t only about the money. You also need to put in a lot of work, and it isn’t only during the first couple of months or years. Usually, it is as long as you continue running it.
You can save yourself those headaches and bone-breaking tasks and expenses with lead gen since it is more about generating leads with digital channels—mainly websites.
Websites can be VERY cheap to build, and with many tools online, you get to do it in a couple of hours instead of days. Any virtual or digital business is scalable and won’t need constant maintenance.
So, let’s summarize this:
- You save money in regular expenses with traditional and most online businesses as what you need is yourself and digital properties (websites).
- You can bet on passive income.
- There’s no need to hire more people to get started.
- You can generate leads in multiple industries, which allows you to work on any niche you want.
