Lots of homeowners are buying hot tubs. This means it isn’t hard to get hot tub installation leads as many individuals are searching for this. And if you’re ranking well on Google, they’ll contact you.
However, it will be difficult for potential customers to find your company if you do not market effectively and know your real target audience for your efforts.
Some intelligent lead generation strategies can help you get more deals and qualified leads and easily get your ROI and revenue.
Both marketing and sales teams’ initiative revolves around attracting, engaging, and delighting customers to make them lifelong buyers and give more referrals. It would help if you invested in your lead generation process to ensure you’re getting the best clients possible. This will allow you to continue growing your hot tub installation business.
But where do you start when it comes to leads in this industry? Usually, it will be essential to determine a target audience.
Ask yourself who your prospects are, who are more likely to invest in your services, etc. Otherwise, you may market your company, but you won’t generate the desired results.
That being said, your business will require more than one lead generation strategy to ensure it remains relevant. This means you need to include more than one in your marketing plan and determine which ones work better for your business.
Use Social Media for Hot Tub Installation Leads
Social media is a cost-effective and affordable way to promote your business. However, knowing what to say and share is vital if you want to attract attention on these platforms.
You are the guru in your field, so it is best to keep your social media management close to your home.
You should make sure you are keeping everything a bit personal, so your audience connects with you, but mostly resourceful and valuable for them to feel like you’re offering more than the basics.
Social media can be tough to handle if you have no idea how to approach your audience and connect with everyone. Thus, you could get some help from these tips we have for you:
Share Stories, Make Friends, Connect
Do not worry about how many people you have or how many followers you get every day. If you jump onto Facebook to discuss your services or promote a new product, you will not find your target market if you aren’t smart about introducing what you offer.
This is why you should tell stories instead of jumping into the game without any type of plan.
You can tell stories about the heritage house where you installed a hot tub without altering the historic facade. To raise awareness for a worthy cause, highlight your office manager’s inspiring 10km run with her family.
You can ask yourself, “Would this be something I would want to read?” Share it if it passes your sniff test. One story could be the one that brings your target audience. Post multiple times per week and connect with local businesses and causes.
People should reach out to you through social media after a while. When they do it, be friendly and open-minded with them so they can see you care. You can use chatbots to connect with potential customers if you are having a hard time keeping up with all the messages.
This tip extends the one above on social media but deserves its place on this list as an individual one. Why? Because you must remember that your finished work is your greatest asset as an installation company.
You can take before-and-after pictures of almost any job that you do. It should be part of the task description for your installer.
You can use these simple tips to help you frame and light images. Choose a few to share on social media channels such as Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter each week.
To save time and maintain consistent styles, you can use an image template to create your before-and-after. You can also experiment with Instagram Stories and Facebook Live to elevate your visual marketing.
Communicate Services and Products Clearly
It should be evident to target customers that they can book a job with your company when they visit your website or any digital profile. You need to make it easy for them—and clear—when it comes to requesting your services or acquiring products.
Make sure to display your contact information, product information, and pricing options. Any relevant information, including videos or product specifications from your manufacturer, should be easily found.
To help your customer understand the process, you can describe what a new installation looks like. They will need to vacate the premises. What if you mess up? How much time will it take? How many technicians will be coming to their houses?
This information is excellent for SEO and to close more deals without much effort. SEO is all about optimizing your website for search traffic and ensuring it is found on the Internet before other companies and competitors in the niche.
Besides working on how you inform prospects about your services or what you offer, you should consider creating a blog to share industry news, stories, and other information. Keep in mind all the beautiful visuals you have been collecting and how this info can boost your website’s overall growth and your company.
You will get more searches by writing blog posts that include keywords such as “hot tub installation leads + [CITY NAME” since you are more of a local business that is aiming for a specific target audience.
Once you’ve got all the information you need, start working on your website and ensure it is optimized and people find it resourceful and informative.
Have an Easy Booking Process
One of the main reasons your clients will choose you over your competitors is how easy and simple it is to book an appointment with you.
Your customers should be able to book jobs with your company efficiently. Online booking is the best way to reach a broader, tech-savvy customer base that cares more about convenience than getting the lowest price.
No matter your booking system, make it as easy as possible. Your website should have all your booking options prominently displayed and ensure that the information you request is simple to provide without that much effort.
Although prospects continue calling a business, they usually prefer to use the digital option if they are already looking at your hot tub installation company.
Get the Easy and Free Stuff for Marketing
Local companies (but not limited to them) should worry about getting a couple of things that are not expensive at all, unlike what they may think. However, they play crucial roles in how your company is founded and influences its success.
Your Google My Business listing is the most important out of all the “things” we can mention. It is the first thing prospective clients will see when searching for your services and how you can help them with your company.
Create this listing for your business so you can show it easily in Google and Google Maps specific, and start ranking for keywords related to your niche.
Make sure you do it correctly and use all the free features. Check out the section on reviews. We cannot stress enough the importance of reviews and how you should worry about building and filling each section on this listing.
You should also be pursuing all inbound links and other citations beyond Google My Business. You can find everything from a local listing on your neighborhood improvement society website to links from manufacturing partners and other listings for free. Inbound links are powerful for SEO and can help your listing appear sooner in web searches.
But What Is SEO (Search Engine Optimization) & Why Do We Mention it?
Your website and blog content can help you organically reach your target market via search engine optimization (SEO).
A person might not search immediately for hot tub installation companies. They will instead try to find out more about the problem. A user might search for “hot tubs” or something similar.
The search engines will attempt to give the user the most relevant information. Your website will rank higher in search results if it contains quality and relevant information and focuses on the so-called keywords that are based on your company’s services or offerings.
The whole idea of SEO is to follow some parameters that will help your website rank higher when someone looks for hot tub installation services and professionals.
For this, you need to connect all your digital properties owned by Google, remain consistent in the contact information you have in your profiles and website, and connect keywords and optimize images with alt text and other details, so you are given a good spot for being valuable and knowing how to reach your audience.
SEO can be overwhelming since you will be fighting Google most of the time. But good practices from the beginning, thanks to a course or assistance from a professional, can guarantee high-quality leads and calls in the short and long term.
Encourage and Celebrate Online Reviews
This is how you can do it: Google your service area and the category you are looking for. For example, you might search for “hot tub installers .”All of the significant players proudly display their Google reviews, as you can see. The star ratings, as well as the number of reviews, are shown.
Out of all the options and professionals showed, which one would you choose? The one with a great reputation and almost five stars, or someone with fewer reviews and not so good reputation?
We are confident you would go for the first one.
Prospective customers might call any of the businesses listed on the search, but whom do they call first? Those with the most reviews and positive reputation.
Thus, display reviews on your website but first, make sure you get them on your Google My Business, so people see how reliable you are while looking for your services.
Consumers trust reviews, even from strangers. Before they call to request a quote, they want to see if your customers have had positive experiences and if you are capable of offering what they need.
How can you get more reviews? It is easy to make it simple for others! Include a link to your review profiles on the homepage of your website, or include it in your email signature and all forms of contact for your prospects, so they only have to click and write the review.
Keep In Touch & Nurture Leads
A weekly newsletter for an installation company might seem a little too frequent, but the idea of keeping in touch with your previous clients or prospects in this way is more than good enough.
It is okay to send out an email every quarter, highlighting the best of your stories and any promotions you may have during that date.
This can be an excellent way to get more clients during specific periods and ensure you are not missing old businesses or new ones.
If you keep in touch, these people will remember you when they need an installation in the future or related services you might have included by them.
Just don’t be too invasive about their space and ensure they have signed up for the newsletter. That being said, don’t buy email lists as they are usually contacts and leads that aren’t worth your time and could make your email address be banned as spam.
Make Fantastic Brochure and Expand Your Services
A marketing brochure is a great idea for hot tub installation companies. They convert a potential customer into a paying client by educating them about your services.
When relying on this tactic, make it clear that you offer free estimates to get people to pick up the phone.
Sometimes, the local market might be oversaturated. It can be challenging to attain new clients or make money.
You may be able to bring in more business by expanding your service area or traveling further instead of staying in the same location or range.
With this in mind, your brochure should be properly designed with the help of a professional that can make it appealing yet include all the information, so leads can contact you.
Develop Meaningful Relationships with Local Contractors
It takes time to build good business relationships, but they can be game-changing and play a crucial role when finally expanding your business.
Your best clients could be others in the construction industry, such as general contractors, architects, public and commercial contractors, remodelers, home builders, and general individuals related to the market.
You want their business, and they should feel at ease referring you to other clients. They will also appreciate any return referrals that you send to them and will be a good option to reciprocate each other’s efforts.
However, building relationships can be tough as you don’t want to compete with the same people in the industry, and you cannot have a relationship with someone who is already in one with a company that is your direct competitor.
Establish A Pay Per Click Campaign & Track Your Leads
Pay-per-click advertising can help you get more leads to your website when knowing how to rank for keywords and determining the best options, so this is a cost-effective lead generation tool, not an expensive one.
When someone searches for “hot tub installation companies near me” or “local hot tub contractors,” your ad may be at the top of the page. You can experiment with different headlines for your ad and ensure your prospects are seeing them.
Ask each customer how they found you. Are they looking for you in the telephone book? Are they able to find you by doing a Google search with keywords you’re ranking for?
Look for as much info as possible since it will help you determine the most effective marketing channels you are using and if your PPC campaign is effective in the process.
Attend Local Home Shows
Home shows bring together contractors, retailers, customers, and more! These are an excellent resource for marketing your business and yourself and will always be either if you are starting your company or not.
You can make important contacts, whether you rent a booth at the show or meet the people and companies that have it.
Wear a shirt with your company name printed on it if you do not have a booth to rent. This will let people know what you do and how you can help them. They will feel invited to ask about your services, and this includes both potential clients and people you can have a partnership with.
It is possible to meet someone who wants to install hot tubs in their home and offer your services. Your booth’s spin-the-wheel promotion could bring in many leads. Everyone loves a freebie but make sure you can afford to give it away.
If you aren’t familiar with the shows or your city specifically doesn’t host them, you can always visit nearby places relevant to the areas you cover and take part in them.
Join Your Local Commerce Chamber
You need to join your local chamber of commerce if you are interested in public policy and want to establish connections with other businesses.
Members of the Chamber of Commerce have exclusive access to networking events and are frequently promoted on the chamber’s website.
You can make networks with other business owners through exclusive events. Your membership can also help to legitimize your business in your local community.
Although you might not be interested, meeting people who advocate for you can make a difference in your business, as we have mentioned so far.
Your business’ success directly depends on your local policy. The chamber of commerce can offer valuable networking opportunities. Nevertheless, it is not a problem if you do not want to wait for an event.
Talk to the people and businesses that you are interested in. Do you know that contractors are always looking to find good people to work alongside?
Order Business Cards
It may seem obvious to invest in quality business cards, but many people miss this important fact.
Make sure the cards you carry with you are attractive. Have all the information people can use to contact you, either if they are prospects or business owners you can make relationships with, and ensure they are easy to read and memorable even if someone loses them.
Business cards are not getting old but rather the opposite, which is why you need to take the time to design one with a professional and print a few dozens when you are going to events or just going around. You never know when you may find a prospect.
Is it not worth printing 500 business cards and making just one sale, though. You don’t want to spend all your budget on the cards, especially if you know you won’t use all of them for now or if you may change the design later for whatever reason.
Keep it low and based on the number of people you will come in contact with and might give your business card to.
This will maximize your investment in this lead generation strategy, and you get your sales qualified leads without having spent hundreds on over 500 business cards.
The Local Lead Generation Process for Your Hot Tub Installation Business
All right! So, everything is about building properties and generating leads. But how does the process actually take place? Are there other steps I need to know?
The steps I mention below are what students from our local lead generation program follow to generate leads for businesses like yourself. So I’ll help you see what we do. And how if you join our program, you can simply generate leads for your own business (unless you want to start a side hustle and build a laptop lifestyle business).
Essentially, our lead generation can be divided into four steps:
The first is prospecting. You need to take the time to do market research on a niche (industry) and determine how many phone-driven businesses are there.
Keep in mind that this is local research as you need to know how many companies need leads. For example, you may search for “plumbing services Youngstown OH.”
You will find dozens or even hundreds of businesses trying to get themselves in front of the customers by ranking on Map Listings, organic results, and even Ad.
The second step, building. When you find a niche (plumbing, tree services, a software company, real estate…), you will need to start building your digital properties. You don’t need to be an expert in HTML or coding. It can be easy with the right tools.
The third step is now taking time to rank your lead gen website. With the site done, you need to work on SEO strategies and start dominating those Google search results. If you’re new to SEO, it stands for Search Engine Optimization.
To keep it simple, it consists of the entire process of growing a company’s visibility on search engines like Google and generating organic traffic. And remember this, local lead generation is part of the strategies.
Moving on to step four, once you rank the site, you will start getting your ROI and profits. You only need to rent it out to a local business interested in the leads the site generates. You can offer a couple of free leads to their move on with the actual pay per lead.
To review steps 1-4 above, I described it to a normal student who is building a lead gen business to help local service providers generate more calls. But replace the student with you as the business owner. And replace sending the leads to a business to simply siphoning the leads to your personal business.
By the way, fun fact, about 20% of our students in our local lead gen program are actually business owners who went through the program. And they use the skillsets we teach to generate leads for their own business.
An Example of Lead Generation: Home Advisor
You must be thinking, “if lead generation sounds so good so far, how come I haven’t seen any company?” That’s the thing; there are many out there. You just don’t know they are dedicated to it.
HomeAdvisor is one of the best examples you can find on the Internet as it is a top lead generation company that has spent millions building its brand but also earned even more zeros for this same reason.
They started small as everyone else but invested in building their brand awareness to make people who are looking for home services go to their website and find what they need. They are over 75% of people’s first choice when they need those services.
If you don’t get HomeAdvisor that much or need a refresh, users need to submit their information to request a service and get a professional or expert who can provide it.
HomeAdvisor’s job is to share your information, which makes you a lead, with local companies so they can contact you and offer the service you’re requesting. For sharing this lead information, HomeAdvisor gets paid by the companies. This happens for every single lead they send to multiple businesses.
Business owners who don’t have marketing skills or don’t even know how to have any online presence will always rely on those pages to list their services. They will save time and effort, but companies like HomeAdvisor can make them spend lots of money as leads aren’t exclusive (one lead is sent to multiple companies after all).
Using Facebook Ads aka Paid Ad Platforms: Do They Generate Leads?
They DO generate leads. If not, no one would use them.
However, you need to remember two facts:
- Paid ads or platforms can be expensive.
- They don’t generate “natural” leads.
Whenever someone sees or clicks in one of those ads, over 80% of them did it by accident or are trying to close/report it.
Why? Because they aren’t looking for those services. At least not at the moment.
What those ads do instead is interrupt their time on the platforms. Users aren’t there to find companies or businesses unless they are searching for a specific company’s user, and for that, there’s a search bar. This is why it is hard to convert them to actual customers who will show interest in the companies’ services. Also, you’re limited by a budget.
When using lead generation, everything is organic. You aren’t forcing others to pay attention to your business but rather being there when they need you. This is why Google’s organic traffic will always beat paid ads, and the reason companies continue investing in it, which is a lot cheaper as well.
What Is Local SEO?
Don’t worry… I didn’t get it at first either. Following the short explanation, local SEO focuses on scaling businesses’ visibility on search engines. However, this is only for those who serve their communities face-to-face.
What does this mean?
Experts and professionals like painters, plumbers, and dentists (but not only them) offer their services to their local customers. Why? Because they can’t deliver them unless they are located in the same area of their customers.
To make sure those businesses get more leads, you need to rank them locally by claiming the business listing on Google to place them on Map Listings. Local SEO also involves online reviews, citation management, and how you manage your entire online presence in the local area.
If you are going to bet on lead gen, you need to adapt yourself to today’s world: The Internet.
Keep in mind that although traditional channels and methods like billboards, warm calls, and pamphlets still work, they aren’t part of your tools. Whenever someone needs a service, they go to Google and search for it.
“Dentist in Miami” or “plumbing services in Orlando,” etc. And you can keep coming up with services or professionals people need and look for. Thus, you need to make sure you’re using Google to get the companies in front of their clients.
Users will always click on the first search results (those near the top), and many of them will be either Ad links (people paid to place their websites there), Map Listing, and then you get websites. Almost all of them are your goal and where you should always aim to place yourself.
Can My Hot Tub Installation Business Utilize a Local Lead Generation Strategy?
If you want customers, you better know you need it. Following the previous explanation, lead gen is all about placing businesses in front of their customers, choosing them over their competitors.
Put it simply – it’s all about closing deals and having clients for those companies to make money. The main difference with the usual methods companies use for this is how lead generation approaches different channels to get them in the right place of the market to get customers.
Those channels are all focused on the Internet as most people are searching for products but also services across the net. The issue is that the Internet is way too broad, and businesses don’t know how to place themselves. They usually try, but they get one common result: losing money and time.
How Powerful Are Organic Hot Tub Installation Leads from Google?
For companies looking for customers, it’s everything. For you? Pretty much the same. When you build a business with digital properties, you get to make thousands of dollars a month.
This isn’t a “get started today and get rich tomorrow” thing, but it is HIGHLY scalable, and ROI + positive results are guaranteed. Learning a fairly decent and very needed set of skills to create your digital properties and start ranking them on Google is required.
I have invested in several online businesses over the years, and if there’s something uncertain, whether you will get your ROI or not, even more than the actual profit.
However, this business moved my earnings from five figures a year to a month in ONLY passive income while sitting comfortably at home.
On my laptop. Anywhere. Anytime.
You can look at one of the first sites I built back in 2016, and it continues making me over $1.000+ every month. The best part is that I don’t need to touch it or the rest I’ve built over the years, just like this digital property.
What Makes Lead Generation SO Alluring?
Here it goes: you can work from home.
The main issue with regular business opportunities is how much you need to invest in staff, equipment, or rent to have a place to sell your products or offer your services.
We all know the hassles of traditional businesses that involve regular expenses, which are extremely high. Can you afford it? I don’t think so, and even if you can, is it worth it? Now, it isn’t only about the money. You also need to put in a lot of work, and it isn’t only during the first couple of months or years. Usually, it is as long as you continue running it.
You can save yourself those headaches and bone-breaking tasks and expenses with lead gen since it is more about generating leads with digital channels—mainly websites.
Websites can be VERY cheap to build, and with many tools online, you get to do it in a couple of hours instead of days. Any virtual or digital business is scalable and won’t need constant maintenance.
So, let’s summarize this:
- You save money in regular expenses with traditional and most online businesses as what you need is yourself and digital properties (websites).
- You can bet on passive income.
- There’s no need to hire more people to get started.
- You can generate leads in multiple industries, which allows you to work on any niche you want.
